There are three couples on the new season. Chuck Wicks is partnered with Julianne Hough, who is his girlfriend. I'm surprised to see she's back because at one point she had said she was taking a break and skipping this season.
As reinydawn already said, Jewel and Ty Murray are married and competing against each other. Not sure how long that's going to last because Jewel has been having problems with her knees.
Also competing against each other is Maksim and Karina, who are engaged. A lot of hearts are breaking over that one.
Usually Edyta is competing against her husband Alec but he's not a part of the new season.

Yea, I heard several times, once in an interview with Julianne herself, saying that she was taking this season off to focus on her music career. But, she added, she would definately be back for the next season. It kind of makes me wonder if someone got hurt and she agreed to fill in. Do you know any more of the story?

I used to really like Dancing With The Stars. Last seasons show however, became such a turn-off, that I doubt if I'll ever watch it again. The way that Cloris Leachman was treated was a real eye-opener for me. Many of the competitors are invited to participate without really having prospects to win. Penn Gillette with his large feet, Cloris Leachman because of her age, others becaue of weight, etc. The show for me has become depressing, not entertaining. They should match the contestants better so that it is an equal and fair competition. Maybe they need a senior version of the show..?

I'm kind of excited to watch it this season since I know who a lot of the dancers are. I'm not sure who the couple is that is a couple in real life. But the couple that are competing against each other is jewel and her husband ty murray. I think he is a rodeo star or something like that.

Last season I lost interest midway through when Cloris just was kept in it too long. It was getting to the point of just being silly. I'm all for voting for your favorite and all, but at a certain point I want to see that the dancing has improved and last season there was just too much of a distraction. I am hoping this season will be more of what it was in previos seasons.
