I heard on the weather tonight, that folks out east are having horrible snow storms.
Can some of you report in on these storms?
Hopefully the electricity will "not" go off.
What about your area - are you having any bad weather?
Watching and waiting to hear from MyLotters in the midst of the storms.
Wishing you well.

snowed here yesterday. not bad snow, but the roads were very slippery, cause there's not really any snow plows down south. and the power went out on the streets so all the stop lights were out. it was drive at your own risk.

Thanks to each of you for reporting in. I am hopping that others will do so as well.
I am always concerned for others when the weather gets rough.
I am a former Wisconsinite, so I know what plenty of snow is all about. When we moved to Oklahoma City, I found out what "ice storms" are all about, because it seems we have more of that type of stuff than snow here. But we do have snow too ocassionally.
I remember one year when I was so homesick to go home for Christmas, and a white Christmas at that. We had no snow here at all. So, I flew home for the holidays, and when I landed in Madison, there was NO SNOW on the ground there either. LOL I was so disappointed. That year we had a "green" Christmas. LOL - - But it did snow a few days after Christmas, and I loved it - - - oh, and I almost forgot - - that twas the year that Oklahoma City had a BLIZZARD of all things! It was so bad that many folks had to stay home. The snow had started Dec. 24th and snowed all day. It was a MESS.
So I felt like nature was playing a practical joke on me. LOL
Then too, some of you may remeber about 2 years ago, when we had an ice storm here that was the worst we've ever had. We were without power for 9 days, but we stayed in our home.
I was so glad that my husband had more insulation blown into the walls many years ago, and did some other things to help keep the house warmer in the winter, and cooler in the summer.
Our gas stove worked if we lit the top burners, and we did and kept them on low, and I'm a candle nut, so we had plenty of candles all over the house. We weren't cold at all. But after the first night or two, I didn't even try to make a supper for us. Some of the resturants made it through without losing power, and we ate supper at night at a resturant.
Let me tell you that after 9 days and nights without lights, heat and phones, I've come to appreciate the basics in life a lot more!
Thank God for our cell phones. We recharged them using our car charger.
Hope to hear from more folks and hope all will be ok.

I forgot to add something. Now don't throw snowballs at me LOL - but the temperatures here for tuesday through friday is supposed to be in the 70s and maybe we might hit 80.
But the weather patterns are so changeable - who knows what'll come 2-3 weeks down the road? We still get snow and ice into mid-March sometimes.
OK - I'm done.
Who's next?

Well I'm in Mexico, no snow here. But I talked to my son a couple of hours ago, he is in Delaware. He said it started sleeting and then snowing and they expect up to 10 inches tonite. I hope that all of you with bad weather are ok, no electrical outages and plenty of candles and auxillary heat sources if the power does go out. Stay warm!

I'm south of Richmond Virginia and it went from misting to rain to sleet to finally snow this evening. There is several inches on the ground and there is supposed to be more coming this way. And as I said in an earlier discussion, and I came south of the Mason-Dixon line for this?! lol

I am in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. Right outside of Roanoke. It started snowing around lunch time and hasn't really stopped. Right now, I think it has turned into a form of sleet. Not exactly sleet, not exactly snow. Needless to say, I am sitting here waiting for our power to go off. If it does, we will be heading to the nearest hotel. I have 3 kids who need to stay warm.
