Has your state and city sales tax gone up?  

The last time I looked not long ago we were only paying 8.25% and I thought that was high. The increase sure wasn't voted on that I heard anything about. Thanks for the suggestion, I think I will run for the hills, at least out in the country out of any city limits.

also, no seat belt law, no helmet law, no manditory insurance law, we arrest out of state officials trying to collect taxes from people who shop here from over their state lines, we have a very simple conciel and carry process for hand guns, we have decriminalized pot (no medical legalization yet though), We have maybe 1 or 2 murders a year state wide, our sheriffs are still sherrifs . If you can find work and stand long very cold winters, this is the place to live, despite our designation as a "blue state" check your liberal ideals (I know your not one) at the state line and welcome to libertarian country.

Obama is just talking. He isn't about to cut taxes on anyone. Instead he will catch us not looking and raise them on everyone.

Hi Ken,

Most of this is city tax. It was only about 6% state tax. It may have gone up too and I just didn't hear about it. The bill today was only $32.53 but the $2.67 sales tax brought it up to $35.20. I just double checked it with the calculator and they made a mistake. 15% of $32.53 is $4.88. They only charged me $2.67. They only got me for about 8.5%. I guess they were not as smart as they thought they were.

Well 3 or 4 months ago our state and city sales tax was 8.25%. Now are 15% you can just figure the price of everything went up by 6.75%. If they do add another 6% that will be a price increase of over 12%. I was already paying over $80 a month for water. I like a small town but not that much. I'll just find me a place in the country close to another town that is cheaper.

I have been trying to keep up with the conditions in California but being in Arkansas we don't get all that much information. You can bet your sweet bippy a lot of Federal taxes are going to go up very soon. I learned yesterday that cigarettes have gone up $10 a carton in Oklahoma in the past month. The lady at the smoke shop said there were informed a few days ago they will go up another $6 the first of April. The lady said she thought the $10 was Federal and the $6 will be state. Obama has got to cover his but someway and guess who is going to pay for it.

Real estate is down real bad here in Arkansas too. The banks now own a lot of the more expensive homes and you can be sure they won't pay tax on them either. Real estate has really gone down in value to and that will cut the taxes even more. Looks like someone isn't going to leave us with much of our money left for our needs. Thanks for your reply.
