What horror movie scared you as a kid? |
|
Another post gave me this idea. Is there a movie that scared you as a kid? Can you watch that movie now that you are older? For me it was Arachnapobia. It scared me as a kid and I still can't watch it now.

Horror movies I scared when I was kid. The Exorcist no. 1 one on the list until today I'm still scare to watch it. Beside The Grduge, The Eye and The Ring.
Also Zombie classic movies like "Night of The Living Dead (1968)". And still one of the scariest movie. And also other recently Zombie movies they give all the creeps.

irishfury187 (304) | 9 months ago | The exorcist dissapointed me, I watched it because everyone said it was so scary, but the whole movie made me laugh...On the other hand I can watch a zombie movie, and not be scared one bit. Until later that night, a good 3-4 hours after watching it, especially if I'm walking somewhere, I'm looking around making sure theres no limping people coming at me with outstretched arms. This one time I watched dawn of the dead (new version) at my girlfriends house, and at about 9 I walked to a nearby convenience store. while walking down this back street that does not get much traffic I seen this girl walking very weirdly, instantly I thought it was a zombie, she wasnt looking toward me, but I wasnt going to get closer to her until I knew for sure (I dont want to be one of the first infected lol). So I seriously did a loud, ridiculous, long, uncalled for cough that sounded like I had been smoking since I was in the womb just to see her reaction she looked at me and i realized she was on the phone just walking around under a street light, not a zombie ready to have me for supper. I felt like a little kid afterwards. My friends and family thought that little story was hilarious when I told them. Hopefully it brought a smile to your face as well.

gjabaigar (647) | 9 months ago | yeah you were right The Exorcist was not really scary at all to realize. I think the scary about The Exorcist is the sound mixing they put in the film. And some sublime visual effect.
About that lady..... hahahaha.... That's really look like a hilarous scene. hahaha You seen dead people... lol... Like the young Haley Joel Osment of the Sixth Sense.
Some Zombie films are really great and they are only low budgeted. But not other zombie like films. Such as Bio-Hazards, Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Doom and other alike titles.

What really scared me was OMEN. I don't know if you know that movie, but it's the movie that I'm still afraid of till now, there's just something creepy about it because it has the possibility of being real.
I still am afraid of the Omen till now.

6. Anora_Eldorath (2596) | 9 months ago | Ok, talk about feeling old lol. The Exorcist did it for me. I saw it when I was 11 and being A) Catholic, and B)Having an attic set up like the one in the movie-I was scared for years that the Devil himself was in our attic. I only recently saw it again back in 2005 when I was 33, and I tell you-it still scared the pants off me! Anora

7. crimsonladybug (1873) | 9 months ago | As a kid kid I accidentally saw part of The Cat's Eye because it had gotten in the wrong box at the video store but Mom figured out what it was and stopped it before it got too scary LOL (Not that it is anyway but she didn't think it was appropriate for a 6 y.o.)
As a kid kid I used to rent the same movies over and over (what kid doesn't, right?) and one that I would rent a lot was called Shinbone Alley. Looking back on it now, it was not kid friendly but it was a cartoon so I guess it passed. It's about a guy who commits suicide (really? in a cartoon?) and comes back as a cockroach who is in love with a cat. Carol Channing voiced the cat, which is scary enough in itself. But it must have been a little traumatizing for me to remember it so clearly two and a half decades later.

8. irishfury187 (304) | 9 months ago | I always thought horror movies were fun to watch, but jason freddy and mr mike myers never scared me...strangely. Chuckie never scared me, (I never seen him attack a kid so I had no reason to be scared). however although all those scary people didnt scare me, the crazy lady with the hair covering her face from sleepy hallow gave me nightmares. If you've never seen it she had long gray hair that she wore over her face kind of like samara from the ring, but she was also chained to a wall for some reason and extra pale, I never seen her face, but for some reason i thought she was going to get me

9. ScarletAlston (2326) | 9 months ago | Back when I was a kid, the only movie that really scared me was 'Night of the Living Dead'. I didn't see the original version (in black and white)until I was grown. I don't know why I insisted on watching all the sequels and scared myself silly but to this day, I can't watch any of them..

| LDabney (46) | 9 months ago | "It" scared me as a kid too. I can watch it now but the clown in the sewer drain didn't help the already developed fear of sewer drains as a kid. I used to think I would fall into them and wash away haha.
