Abortions or Medical termination of pregnancy.

I was just reading a discussion from grandpa lash regarding the MTP of a 9 year old Brazilian girl. There has been answers which are both pro and anti abortion. I fail to understand how religion can interfere in ones personal life. In India it is quite common to have unwanted babies and there are a number of Hospitals where abortions are conducted regularly. Furthermore, I have seen many women (Hindus, Christians and Muslims) waiting in the government Hospitals to have their abortions. There is nothing against abortion in Hindu culture or Religion, as far as Muslim as well as Christian woman are concerned they have their abortions very freely. But looking at some your answers, it would seem that all these people are sinners and will be punished by the god almighty. As far as I am concerned this is a Hilarious situation, because there cannot be two rules for an western Christian or an Indian Christian.

Hi rameshkumaar57, This discussion has been an ongoing one in the western world for many years. Some Christians believe it's wrong and other's don't. There are hundreds of Christian denominations and they all believe differently. Blessings.

There has lots of discussion regarding this issue and I still think there can't be one single law banning abortion as every case is different. Why cant a rape victim abort her child? Before few months its a mass of cell an if somebody doesn't want a child then we don't have the right to force them as we wont be there to bring up the child. Again aborting only because the child is detected to be a female is inhuman and that needs to strictly dealt with.

Yes arthi, I whole heartedly agree with you on this point, that is aborting only because the child is female in not only inhuman, it is also barbaric and my only wish is all Indians should stop this kind of inhuman thing. On the other hand the loss is all theirs and they will not have to opportunity to see a beautiful girl growing and playing in thier laps, finally they are going to miss the chance to see their girl growing to a beautiful woman and getting married and getting pregnant and having a beautiful grand daughter. Well this is for all of you who do not want a girl, just see what you are missing.

Wonderfully stated. A child is a child and should grow up to be a good human. My Mom has been somebody's daughter and is happy and her parents are proud parents of a successful and and happy women in both career and family life. That what parents want. Daughters are not a burden but the same as your son.

India ranks the third in rape cases worldwide every year.I am against rape too as killing in every form is bad. Getting into something for the sake of fun and destroying the life is obviously not what should be allowed. But if a girl of 15 is raped and gets pregnant should be forced to give birth. Rape is a vicious crime and I wish God never allows the birth of children from such condemned act but this are truth.I am sorry if my stating that embryo is a mass of cell hurt you but thats what we learn in school.People who get their organ removed for survival are not evils so is a child who goes for an abortion because she herself is suffering is also not an evil.In the west the whole scenario is different. Here millions of girls are still married off at the age of 12 or 13 in rural areas and then one third of them die by the age of 15 or 16 due to early pregnancies or repeated abortions. When NGOs try to advice this small girl's families to do an abortion and opt for a child when their daughter is grown up or at least has the physical strength to give birth to a healthy child they give religious reasons and let the girl go onto suffer. Everybody id God's child so is the young girl who goes through so much pain. That is what my point was. None of us should give a general opinion without being in these girls condition. If you can then visit Rajasthan once and see how girl children are aborted and how young brides die or have 4 to five children by the time they are 18 years old. should these people be forced to suffer?

^_^ Howdy rameshkumaar57!.... I felt sorry about the 9 year old Brazilian girl. Especially the aborted children in the womb of the girl. There's no other victim in these situation but the aborted children for humanity. If they don't want to have those children because of the mistake had been done there are lots other humans who want to take care for them especially for those couples who can not have children that wants take care and nourish them as human should always must to do for the sake of humankind. How can a mistake be corrected if the answers are always mistakes also. They answered their mistake accordingly to their own weaknesses. And the weakest always suffered. The aborted children was the weakest of their weakest answered for their mistakes. For the others who are practicing medicine these are embarrassing to them. What's the use of being highly professional medicine practitioner or a doctor to prolong life of humankind and not to terminate humankind life into their own hands. ^_^ God Bless Us! Peace! Thanks and Enjoy!.... myLot!....

gjabaigar, I agree to you reponses, I do not know about the orphanages in Phillipines, but in India most of the orphanages are run by corrupt people and in some private orphanages run by ngo's , the children are treated very badly and sexually abused. People in developed countries can talk about anything, but it is the abondoned children who suffer a lot in third world countries.

Any abandoned children in the whole world can suffer a lot even it was not in third world countries. And as we, who see all of these kinds mistakes and wrong doings we must be always the correct solutions. If we don't correct these mistakes then what are our purposes of why we live life. So, the main purposes why we live life is to correct these mistakes that has been done. And the next generations of humankind can live life for a better world.

I have found out that 98% of abortions are done in my home country for social reasons. I think that 2% of abortions are done to save the life of the mother or being if born the baby would be severely disabled. I imagine that the religious people might see that the two last reasons for abortion were to save a lady's life or stop a baby that might suffer in life being born. I know that the Catholic religion is Christian and it doesn't agree with abortion. Other Christians, Hindus and Muslims might believe abortion is acceptable. Generally though people are either pro-life like I am or pro-choice. I am not a religious person. I would never have an abortion.
