The Wedding Bells are Blooming!  

Ewww! I am so ready for spring here. We had lows in the 20's just last week. This week our highs are going to the 80's. Looks like a jump right into summer! I forgot to attach a photograph earlier of the wedding bells. Doing that now! Have a great evening!

I just potted some lily bulbs that someone gave me when we moved. I've kept them through the winter and they are sprouting now. They are the old timey blood red ones. I think they were called ox blood if I remember correctly. What color are your lilies?

Just the old orange. Their main attraction is the cats can't seem to kill them. They get shredded every year, and just get bigger and spread more the next year. I don't know why the cats have to shred them, but they can't seem to stop!

LOL, I guess they love to pounce on them and catch the leaves and flowers. Cats are too funny! I used to have all different colors at our other house. I should get out in the flower bed and see what I can salvage. Ah...so much to do and so little time. Really takes away from all the fun stuff when you have to work! Have a great day!

Yup, my daylilies are up. I have the orange ones as well. Usually start blooming in May or June. Did not bloom last year, but I do not know why. My forsythia is blooming nicely. I love it, it is yellow and cheerful.

That would be unusual for them to be blooming with snow on the ground. You will have to take pictures if they are...

I'm just hoping and keeping my fingers crossed that we don't have any more freezes! I have potted a few flower bulbs and also some bell peppers from seed and green onions, but decided to keep them all indoors for now until sometime in April. I don't trust the weather here. It will be 80 one day and 40 the next. As long as we don't dip back into the 30's at night I'll be happy!

Well in MI you can never really trust the weather, that's why my mom started potting flowers in her backyard instead of planting. Now if there is a storm brewing, we can just pull those pots in the garage. If it's really cold, she can put the plants around the house. Either way, they last longer than they do outside.

They make pretty little nosegays! I didn't pick any and probably don't have any left after 3.5 days of rain! What a nasty weekend we had!

We had a beautiful weekend in the 40's and today it got to 55, tomorrow it is suppose to be a bit warmer yet, did some walking which helps with the depression.

Thank you Karen, getting there slowly, the walking definitely helps. But, have to take it slow, the shin splints have a tendency to act up. Old age, lol.

The flower does look similar but the leaves don't look the same. I had to go look up lily of the valley :) Now I'm checking out the surprise lilies :) Oh wow, those are beautiful. I wouldn't mind some of them popping up here as well. I have spider lilies in the yard also and have seen a couple amarillos here and there but they haven't bloomed yet. I have to remember to flag them or hubby will cut them all down. Geesh, men!
