All it takes is one thing to make you dash about like a madman on fire!!!!  

yup I missed place my coffee pot once. was talking with SIL and just thought I had put it back on the stove NOPE wasnt there looked every where found itin the fridge. Thats what I get for not paying attention lol

I swear things in this house grow legs and run off to hide from me all the time! Usually I am mistaken and the missing objects are found hidden in my sons' room. But I do recall one time last summer when I was getting ready to take the kids to Idlewild.

I had the van packed, the swim stuff packed, the diaper bag packed, the cooler packed.....but I couldn't find the keys to save my life. I tore my kitchen counter and table apart, my desk apart, even everything I packed thinking I may have put the keys in something I already packed, got torn apart.

About 45 minutes through my frantic searching my oldest asked me what I was doing and I told her in not the nicest manner that unless I found the keys we were all going to have to sit home and roast to death in the agonizing heat and instead of her sitting on her butt she should help me look.

She looks at me like I sprouted a second head and it too was brainless, then walked over to me and swatted the keys that were looped on my hip with a key chain.

That was almost as bad as looking for my sunglasses only to be told they were on top of my head!

My wife just had something like that happen to her. She lost the blades that are in my shaver. She thought it went under the bed so she drug all the shoes out and looked but no shaver. She looked everywhere else and finally went and got a flashlight to put a little light on the subject. There it was on a dark rug where she had been kneeling and not even under the bed. The light from the flashlight reflected off the shiny part of the blades.
She had a workman building a cabinet and he was always misplacing something that she usually wound up looking for.

Has anything like this happened to me? Does the river run into the sea? Does the sun rise in the east? Do children cause stress? Of course they do! All the time. No matter what you need it disappears into some mysterious vacuum that we cannot find an entry to! Good luck finding that pin! Hugs xxx

I'm always putting things in a safe place, so I "know" where they are, then when I come to get them, I can't for the life of me think where that safe place is! That's probably what you did, my friend, and thinking about too many things at once, your safe place has completely slipped your mind. Either that, or you have a mischievous spirit or jackdaw around the house!

that stuff happens around here all the time
weird thing is that we can turn this house upside down twice and not find it but if I ask my resident ghost to give it back it magically reappears in a most obvious place that we had already searched several times

Things like that always happen to me in our house, it is usually socks though. I bring the kids their socks and uniform down in the morning and I give them their uniform and socks and yet when they come to put their socks on they have vanished! How on earth can socks just disappear, and I mean some days they disappear not to be found again!!!!
