I will soon be visiting London for the second time. What sights are "must see?" |
|
I was last in London about 15 years ago. I've been to the Tower of London and seen the crowned Jewels, the Museum of History, Big Ben, and Westminster Abbey. I've shopped in Harrod's although I do want to go there again. I've even been to Buckingham Palace and saw 1 theatre show in the Theatre district (Les Miserables). What should I do this time?

PearlGrace (1883) | 10 months ago | You have given me some great ideas. I did think about seeing the white cliffs of Dover, even though I don't really know what they are. I do believe Dover is on the coast and we may not get down that far. I do love getting out in the country to see all the plants, but don't know anything about edibles. London definitely has alot of dance clubs. Great input!

writersedge (4474) | 10 months ago | White Cliffs of Dover are some really cool looking mountainous region with white rock. I've seen pictures. We're used to gray rock gutting out with lots of vegetation. This is different.
Same with the other places you're visiting. I'd love to see the beautiful rolling hills and other things that you see on TV and in the movies, just beautiful scenery. Too bad you won't be going down that far. Bet it would be nice. But I'm sure you'll have lots of fun. Do a little dance for me while you're there, OK?

2. wondericequeen (4413) | 10 months ago | Have you been to the London eye and the flea market there? I am thinking of going there by end of May and actually I have no clue of where to visit. But I think I will do some searches on the flea market there and I think that would be quite interesting to see. Apart from that, you could actually take the ride on the London Eye and see the view of the whole London*smiles*.

PearlGrace (1883) | 10 months ago | I love your suggestion. We are planning to go to the London Eye and see the view, it sounds marvelous! I was unaware of a flea market there, so thanks for the tip. It will still be cold there so I'm not sure if they'll be having their outdoor markets yet, but we'll see. Thanks.

| 3. suzana66 (3) | 9 months ago | I would recommend visiting the Tate Gallery and the V & A Museum. Lots of beautiful paintings and other works of art to see there. My favourites are the Pre-Raphaelites and the Impressionists. There are some beautiful costumes in the V & A too.

PearlGrace (1883) | 9 months ago | We went to the National Gallery and the Portrait Gallery and shopped at Covent Gardens while in London. Also, we paid a visit to Madama Toussaud's. I don't think we visited the Tate or the V & A. Maybe next time. We saw Mamma Mia at the Prince of Wales Theatre and it was fantastic. Thanks for your suggestions.

PearlGrace (1883) | 5 months ago | I did visit the London Eye and it was fantastic! Riding on the London Eye was particularly fun. I also went shopping on Oxford Street, if that is in the downtown area. I was unable to ride the boat down the Thames River, but I'm sure that would be a beautiful trip. Thank you for your suggestions.
