Do you think People can fall in love in arranged marriage?  

I think it is possible that two people could fall in love in an arranged marriage. they have to be somewhat attracted to one another though, even if it is only by personality.

Not everybody falls in love with their partner in fixed marriages although there are some but few cases. I don't like a fixed marriage.

Yes.Even in arranged marraige post-marital Love is very much possible.As it happened with our Grandfathers.It was not compromise at all.In fact,there dependency is bit little more,thus the chances of seperation less.It is unconditional Love,post-marraige.

Hi Subha, your argument is a good one and I know 3 subhas apart from you all are telling the same way like you. Now I believe in the name pzychology. I feel all Subhas will be having the same line of thought. Any how coming to the topic, if you really find the essense of your discussion, if you are working or living far from your relatives and friends, then you can really experience the true love in arranged marriage couples, whereas others won't have that much love in that scenario. Apart from that as like amla the sweet of the arranged marriage couples can be found much later not initially. This is not my experience only it is the exeprience of many more people. Well I agree with you that many people are not comfortable with arranged marriages. It would most likely be uncomfortable and of course different to accept. But I think that people can fall in love in such situations. Given time, love can grow. In fact we can see that there are couples who have been in arranged marriages that until now are happily living together and are loving each other. So I do think that it happens.

I think people can fall in love in arranged marrige though not for everycouple. The couple know each other by middleman at first, they will find out short points and virtues from each other after long time contacting. If they feel they can accept each other's shortcomings and enjoy each other's virtues, well then marriage is not far.
Maybe they cannt fall in love spontaneously, but they respect each other, love will fall in their heart sooner or later.

Maybe there is really love after months or years of living together. Its just a matter of trying and taking things slow. Start first with friendship and caring and ther est follows.

My parents had an arranged marriage in the 60s and they had only met each other once prior to marriage and weren't even to have a conversation with each other. They are still together over 40 years later and I know how much they love each other as I've seen them my whole life. I know others of my parents generation who have had successful arranged marriages and some who've ended in divorce. In more recent times the people I know who've had arranged marriages have had the chance to get to know their potential spouse before deciding whether or not to progress with the marriage - I guess it's more of an introduction through family or friends than a "typical" arranged marriage of yesteryear. I believe love can blossom when people are mentally free of other ties and meet someone that they can just click with whether it is arranged or not :)

From the people I have spoken to there seems to be a lot of success in arranged marriages, and that true love does happen. Especially where the individuals concerned believe in the arrange marriage process.

Yes, people can fall in arrange marriage. The best thing about arrange marriage is that you get a lot of support from both of families and the harmony created by the intermingling of new people because of you created a lot of positives in your mind.
