When you were a child did your mom and dad makes things up to either keep you in line or try to be funny. Like "You were born under a rock" or "if you keep making that face it will stay that way".
My dad used to tell me if I drank coffee it would grow hair on my chest. I never believed him but it made me laugh. I was also told if I accidentally swallowed watermelon seeds I would grow a watermelon inside my tummy. lol
So what silly things did your mom and dad tell you??Do you tell your children silly things too??

LOL I was always told I wasn't born I was just found under a gooseberry bush - and I used to believe it too! Grapes seed were the ones that would make grape vines grow in your tummy, if the wind changed direction your face would say in the same expression til it changed direction again, eating the crusts of my bread would make my hair curly ( I desperately wanted curly hair) and so many more! lol I can't think of any fibs that I tell my kids - apart from the old Mummy knows everything one! lol I prefer to try and be honest with them although I am sure that I have told them some little white lies - I just cannot think what they are! xxxx

Mummy knows everything and Mummy is always right are my favourites although I don't think Mummy is always right is lying! lol I have always been honest about my age - Niamh is trying to figure out how my eldest sister is younger than me - she always claims to be 22! lol xxxxx

I used to suck my thumb as a child and my dad used to tell me that I wouldn't have any thumbs left and everyone would laugh at me for not having any thumbs, but it never made any difference! My dad used to tell me that the hobgoblins would come and get me if I misbehaved too. It's funny looking back what we were told as kids, I wish I could remember more, I am sure there were other 'laughable lies' that I was told but have forgotten!
