Well, I would support my son or daughter but that depends on what I believe it's right or not. I think we have to respect that decision in our son or daughter but considering that ethics and morals are involved with that you have to decide if what's he/she's doing it's right or not.

I fully support standing up for what a person believes in. I'm an activist myself, and if I had children I would fully support them if they chose to do the same. I'd probably encourage it. People can change the world. Even if it was something that went against what I believe in, I'd be unhappy but I respect a person's right to stand up for their beliefs and even fight for them.

Like most people, I'd support them unless it were something that is intrinsically wrong (i.e. they joined some kind of radical racist group or militant religious sect or something).

Student activists always amuse me, though. At that age, we still think we know everything and don't understand the complexities involved in most subjects. Students are always so idealistic (which is a good thing), but more often than not the things they're being activist about are ludicrously impractical.

That's not to say they're wrong to fight for an ideal. It's just amusing to see the naivety of it.
