Shopping Aisle Rage

I leave home once a fortnight in a mellow mood, well, no more curmudgeonly than usual, and drive the 45 kms to our local big town. I enter the supermarket only slightly discombobulated by the trip and the failure of my library to have all the books on shelf that the catalogue informs me are there, and begin shopping. Within fifteen minutes I am muttering curses at my parnter's snail-like shopping pace, snarling offensively at every misplaced item in the shop, and baring my teeth at any fool whose shopping trolley gets within three feet of mine, and swearing not so discreetly every few meters. The Gods alone help any driver who gets in my path on the way home.
Do shopping trips, in supermarkets and shopping centres, have this affect on you?

lol. I can assure you that you're not alone here Lash! Not by a long shot..... I can become very much the same myself; and in a very rapid timeframe too! I grocery shop with my Wife each weekend and I enter the supermarket full of excitement at all the possibilities. After less than 5 minutes of people walking around completely oblivious to others, trolley wankers that like to leave their carts in the middle of an aisle and disappear, line bargers, merchandising salespeople and that friggin' spill in the dairy section that needs 15 dudes with mops..... I'm about ready to re-enact the Battle of Hastings!
And of course another weekend rolls around and off I go again and STILL try to start out positive.

Oh, the dramas sharra..... THE DRAMAS!
This is why us men rarely go shopping with our significant other. This is probably why we don't wear skirts also. (Except for the Socttish I guess!) "In, out and no mucking about" should be the official motto for men shopping I reckon!
Thanks for the BR too Lash.

Absolutely true. However, on the subject of shopping for clothing. If a guy walks into a clothing shop all he has to do is look for a pair of shorts in the right size and the right price.
Now if I walk into a clothing store looking for a skirt I have to spend ages looking only to find that they do not have any or if they do they do not make them in my size, oh they have lots of shorts and trousers but no skirts. I do not understand why it is so hard to buy such a simple item as a neat fitting, flared cotton skirt but it is. I can walk through loads of shops and find nothing and I get so angry and frustrated and tired that I hate shopping. The last time I tried I either had to buy some fancy skirt that was fine for the office but useless for just wearing around the house and in the garden. So I went home and repaired my old one for the umpteenth time and hope it lasts another season.
I could have bought designer skirts if I could afford them but I was not going to spend $50 or more for my purposes. I like to have nice skirts but I have enough for wearing out I needed a nice comfy skirt that was great for hot days.
So I would argue that it is much harder to buy women's clothing based solely on the lack of stock that I want. How would you feel if all you could find for men were skirts when you were looking for shorts? Huh?

Yes I do know about this. I can be fairly patient during shopping until my pain levels start to climb and then all I want to do is sit down and go home. I find shopping so frustrating and annoying and I only do it when I really need something.
I have been told that women are supposed to like shopping but it is one task that can leave me very grumpy. Maybe that is because of the pain it causes in my body. All that tramping about on hard floors looking for goods that you cannot find.
I know I am slow around the shops but it is better to be slow and do the trip once than speed through the isles and have to go back 2 or 3 times for the items I missed the first time. I wish I could do it faster as that might keep my pain levels down.

It fits, it's an acceptable colour/style, I can afford it, grab it and go.

Walmart is my nemesis. I hate going there. A lot of people love to go because of the good deals but I would rather take a beating. There is always a million people there and the aisles are barely wide enough to get a buggy through. Anywhere else..just not the Walmart.
