Pretty in Pink~~~~~  

Interestingly enough, it's only since the Victorian era that pink is considered a girl's color. Before that, pink was a man's color. This is because red dyes often came out dark pink on tapestries and clothing, and red was used to symbolize vitality and strength. Red and pink were essentially interchangeable! And blue was a woman's color, because blue was the color of the Virgin Mary's robes. So I say there is nothing wrong with a man wearing pink.

Besides, the whole idea of colors being associated with gender is kind of silly. They're just colors, they don't have any gender of their own. It's one of those ridiculous social constructs that we would do well to do away with.

My first thought was: IF I had a man he could wear whatever he was comfortable in lol. I've seen guys wear pink shirts under tuxes, and they looked pretty sharp in them. I think we get too hung-up on 'girls wear pink and boys wear blue' from babyhood. I have seen fellas who wore pink that accentuated their skin tones and they looked really handsome. I also think the average Joe wouldn't feel comfortable wearing pink because of the 'girly' stigma with it. Personally, I never wear pink myself, and I don't own one stitch of pink clothing. (On me, pink does not look good with my skin tone, and makes me look like I'm ill or something....or so I've been told repeatedly before I gave up wearing pink)

I am a female and I don't wear pink other then when I got married/eloped to my now ex-husband. He wore a light pink dress shirt with black pants with black suspenders. Some men look good in the color pink.

I don't see a problem with guys wearing a pale pink shirt but Ithink that is about as far as I think it should go. It's funny how women can get away with wearing blue though isn't it but it is not acceptable for a man to wear pink!! LOL . Take care

My husband looks great in pink. I just wish I could get him to wear it more. But I must admit, it is usually not a outfit, just a shirt. There is a difference.

Well, he was pimped out wasn't he? I've not ever seen anyone totally in pink before, though I have seen men in pink shirts,... they don't look bad in them. If they look effeminate, it doesn't matter... I try not to notice. These are the times you could go with pink and blue striped hair, so why not go the same way with their clothes?

I have always hated pink as as a kid, my mom had me drowned in pink! Eerything was pink from my clothes to the bedroom decoration! I didn't even put my daughter in pink but a time or two as I hated it so much! But in last years, I have gotten a little less mad at the color! My duaghter hated it as a kid, but now loves it ... even is redecorating her kitchen in pink!!!

A man in pink? Totally in pink, nah, I don't think that is very becoming... just not a total color, but put him in a black or grey suit with a pink tie or pink shirt...and you got a looker there!!! I know I'd sure look!

I don't care for men in Pink. I wouldn't let my husband wear pink. My friends son was sixteen wearing pink tee shirt is was funny. At Jcpenny they had a shirt that was Pink that said Yeah I stole this shirt off my sister. But Pink on guys no way not good color. Thats just pushing it.
