Which is better? Canon, Kodak, or Sony digital cameras. |
| |
| By this summer, I'm already planning to buy a digital camera but having a hard time to choose which of these products/brand should I buy. Every time I visit the malls or camera shops, I get confused looking at all this different kinds of digital cameras displayed at the shop. What I'm looking for is a good camera between $150 - $300.00, at least 7 megapixel. A digicam that is just for personal use for my family and friends, for travelling, any occasions...etc. Any suggestion which of these? Thanks! =) | | | | | |

| | I use Canon for my digital photos. You can get a high end model for over a thousand dollars or spend as little as $50 on a point and shoot. It all depends on what kind of pictures you plan on taking with the camera. You can go to a electronics store like Circuit City or Best Buy to try some cameras out before you actually buy one. Once you choose one you like, I suggest buying off of Amazon.com, that is usually the best deals. Any extras you may need for the camera can be bought on there also. Good luck and have fun taking pictures, it really gets addicting. | | | | | | |

| | i know what you mean. there are so many digital cameras around, we're all spoilt with choices till we dont know which one to choose! i'm not sure which one's better but i've heard from many people that canon takes the best photos though. maybe you can do some search on the net and ask the sales person at the shop to help you decide which camera you wanna buy. | | | | | | |

| | I've always pulled for the 'under-dog' so I've always bought Kodak cameras. They have great photo quality for the price. The most recent Kodak I bought is a Z650 that takes beautiful pictures and I think I paid about $275 for it. Their software is easy to install and use are the pictures are crisp and clear. My thoughts are Kodak does just as good a job as the other brands or at least from what I've seen anyway. | | | | | | |

| | At the price you are looking at, the best quality and feature set is almost certainly the Panasonic Lumix range. Canon also have very good cameras in this price range, but, contrary to another post here, Kodak cameras are sadly inferior in both build quality and photographic output. That is something I am very unhappy about, as a long-time Kodak fan. The Sony cameras are also good quality at a good price and Nikon should be on you short list, too, as should Fuji and the Pentax, Olympus and Minolta cameras. If it's mainly for travel, you might like to consider a shockproof/weatherproof model. | | | | | | |

| | Good choice, wrong reason. Every week on MyLot someone asks the same question about the best camera to buy. Half the time the majority say "Canpn" the other half nearly everybody says "Nikon"... it just depends on who notices the post and who bothers to answer, Try out the cameras and buy the one that suits you, whatever brand it is. | | | |

| | Hahaha, your right. I must choose not what the majority tells me, but with what I'm really comfortable with. Sometimes I've experinced buying things that people tell me, in the end, I hated it cause its not that to my comfort. Thanks there again... | | | |

| | Davidarich is right. Lumix LX3 is the best point and shoot camera... you don't need to buy another lenses.. since it has a wide angle ranges...this is the best for photos for family and friends or for personal use.... It can last for a lifetime.... also, Lumix LX3 accessories are cheaper compared to canon. Lumix LX3 got award for the best point and shoot among all the brands. It is easy to use compared other brands...and complete features. Or you may opt to try the canon powershot series like G9 or G10. I own G9 which I used for taking pictures for macrophotography and personal outings with family and friends. I try Sony Cybershot, it gives us good quality pictures but sometimes it get frustrated when there is grainy or noise in images.... Hope it helps. | | | |

| | yeah youre right there. as what the previous response said. You must buy something that you are comfortable using with, not with how much it cost or how popular the product is. But then again, what makes me comfortable about buying a stuff is something that has many good previews, right? I mean, why would i buy something that has bad comments about it or bad reviews. If you know its a bad product, then its bad... | | | |

| | Sony digicams are also cool, has a lot of features and also the designs are the best. But I have problems about the prices, its quite expensive though and if I decide to buy one, well I think I also need time to get my budget for it, haha.. | | | |

| | It depends really of how much you could spend for it. If you like to have high quality without thinking about the cost, then perhaps you should use what professional photographers are using. Nikon would be one, but there are a lot of slrs that are really good. On the other hand, if you're thinking about the cost, then perhaps you could just buy canon or something. I do have Sony and I feel it's great. | | | | | | |
