How long does it take you to get to know someone? Months, Year, years?

I easily trust a person. Once I already talked to him/her i can already tell if he/she can be trusted or not..

I don't know... Some people I get to know sooner then others... sometimes i can open up to a person fast and other times i can't... there are people who are in my family (by marriage) but who have been around for a good 10 plus years and i still don't really talk to them. I'm super shy but still you would think after that many years someone would get over it lol but not meeeeee....... but yeah, i don't think i do quickly at all... that would be a very rare thing.

It does depend on the person I guess. I find it interesting how with some I can feel completely at ease and feel trust and closeness relatively quickly and yet with others it feels quite difficult to achieve a level of comfort and closeness. I put it down to energies between individuals so it does vary; I have been known to get close and trust someone in a short period of time; as I see it if the connection is there you know it almost right away.

I used to just jump right on into friendships after meeting a person, so a day or two. However, I've since learned my lesson and I now take several months to get to know someone and build the relationship slowly. In this time I can fully know the ins and outs and decide if this is indeed someone I want a long term relationship with.

Getting to know someone can take months or years. It depends on how much time you have to spend together. One of my close friends from church, we only began to really know each other in 2002 during the election. Before that time, I only saw her when she or her hubby would pick up her son from Sunday School.

Usually having something in common will draw you closer together too. This might shorten the time of getting to know each other.

I learned the hard way never to make snap judgements about people. Now I only trust people after they have proved they deserve it.

I think it depends on the person. I always trust people until they give me a reason not to. If they ever do I most likely will never trust them again. I guess I would say a couple of months.

I think it depends how much time I spend with them. Whether it be e-mailing, talking on the phone, going to church with them...it is more about the quality of getting to know them, not how long I've known them. I can know someone for a year, but if our time hasn't been spent really trying to understand and help each other, I won't feel as comfortable as I would with, say a person I've known for two months, yet we often do things together. Depending on the person, sometimes it takes me a long time to get to where I feel comfortable enough to share really important things.

I don't usually dive into new relationships with total abandon....I am cautious. Anyone who is too zealous in diving into my life I feel put off by..so it might take a month or more of seeing them on a regular basis before I feel comfortable with calling them my friend.
