Well I did it again. I joined into a discussion that got under my skin and even though I know that joining some types of topics will get your post deleted so you spout off at the mouth, say your piece, earn a few pennies and then the next day or two it's gone.
I don't get upset with Mylot, but I do get a bit upset with myself for falling into these topics.
I did great for about a year and never lost a penny.
Do you find yourself drawn into discussions you should just pass by?

I don't like arguments and some folks bpth online and offline seem to love them and start up conversation with the intent of getting an argument going. I avoid those just as I avoid religion and politics both here and offline.
If there are other topics I will say my piece regardless of whether it goes against the grain or not and especially when I see something totally wrong being said. I try to be polite and respectful and I am aware that not all here have English as their first language which can also cause misunderstandings. Just as I do not join in just for the sake of an argument, neither do I stay away just for the sake of avoiding one if I see things being said which could need correcting.

Good day to you sirrob!
Yes that word 'respect' is what it's all about. Everywhere, not just here. If there was more of it about a lot of things might turn out differently too

Hello there, I agree with mostly all of the part in your response. That I also would like to reiterate my intent of participating in any controversial discussions. The same thing with you, respect the one who started it or those who responded to the discussion while airing your side of the topic.

I personally never bite my tongue if it needs saying then I will say it,
I will never have a 10 star as I guess I do get negatives votes for saying what is on my mind.
But surely thats what mylot is about we all have different view points and opinions and I for one would never rate someone bad just because they dis-agree with me.
The world and mylot would be boring if we all had the same opinion.

I really like the negative button but I am sure it's abused more than not. I like the option but only use it when someone is ranting and not even on topic. Rant all you want just be sure you are at least ranting in the right place.
So if you go wild on one of my discussions it's fine as long as you go wild but stay on topic. :)

yea sure I had my moments. losing pennies and a few times got into arguments or cold war. but I kept posting anyway. I mean everyone else sure has their moments, so there is nothing to be upset about. it's annoying when my response was long and it was deleted but if it was deleted without breaking any rules, I wouldn't respond to the same person that started discussion again. because the starter could have been the one that reported it. I haven't had any trolls stalking me yet to the point they are hurting my earning or feelings, so the only thing that makes sense to me now is to avoid responding to the same discussion starter. unless of course I responded to discussions that break TOS

Discussions would become boring if everyone said the same thing. We all have different opinions on certain topics, and quite often when I have started a discussion somebody will respond with something I hadn't considered before. I'm not sure what Mylot considers upsetting - is it swearing or being vindictive?

I am not sure what Mylot sees as being worthy of deleting but when I am browsing the discussion I can usually look at them and know 'this one is going down' but, like I said, sometimes I just can't resist.
It's not even the loss of earnings that bother me because I am here now only when I have a few spare moments. It's more about my rating. I used to have a 10 star but my mouth got me into trouble and I don't want to see it go down any further. :)

At first I am but as I know the way around the site, I don't care anymore if I get deducted due to the fact that I participated in a controversial topics like what you have mentioned here. What I am up to is I was able to vent out and air my side of such discussion/s. The only thing is, I don't get to actively participate in those kind of discussions most of the time now. It is just a waste of time and I believe, in some discussions is just a way of attracting earnings as long as it won't get deleted.
