Obama's gift to Prime Minister Gorden Brown is a dud-the Prime Minister tried to watch one of the movie cds, and discovered they weren't coded for European Dvd players. I thought the gift was tacky anyway, and to discover they weren't even playable-omg! How embarrassing!

Yep, it's been pointed out before that those DVDs don't play on European machines unless one has a region free one like our household, lol. Actually, I'm pretty sure being that he is the Prime Minister, they'll have one somewhere around his office. Problem is, he can't take them as his property. Those are state gifts and as such he can't take them privately anyway. That's why it's so thoughtless to begin with. Let's hope there won't be a repeat gift gaffe in the Obama future. This was embarrassing enough.

I was very embarrassed by "our" gift to the PM. That may have been what someone of Obama's generation would think was a good gift but it lacked dignity and didn't show much thought. The fact that they won't play is just further proof to the PM that the gift wasn't given much thought.
