i'd give my answer to my discussion, yes. :) i wouldn't even job hunt if i am treated fairly in my work, right? no, seriously, it is unethical. but since we have 5 days and eight hours of each day in the office, do you do slip once in a while and do this?

It is not. I agree though that a lot of people are guilty of using the company computer and even phone for personal reasons other than work. It is unavoidable since we find some ways to entertain ourselves during slack time.

Hello Ritchell, my answer will be NO, because it is unfair for someone to do this, it is really unethical to consider job hunting, and yet using the company's computer for personal gain.
Probably most users here would say the same thing because they do believe in ethics and good conduct at work. Even printing resumes at work is considered unethical specially if your purpose for printing is not for company's gain but yours. Happy Mylotting!

It is not proper and surely unethical to use company's computer to search a new job. It is applicable only when you are on the job, i.e, in the company's premises. There are so many time left to search jobs after the completion of the work.
Ethics says that try to give as much as you can for the company in which you are employed, even if you are planning to leave.
