How many people are going to start a garden this spring?

I decided back in November I was going to start a small container garden, and I'm waiting on some free seeds to come in the mail, lettuce and tomato. Campbell's soup is giving away tomato seeds on their website-I don't know what variety they are, but for my sake I hope they're early, as the growing season where I live is really short, lol.

I have been really wanting to start a garden, but we live in a rented townhouse where we don't really have our own yard, so there is no place to plant things. I was a little sad about that, but I hadn't really thought about trying a small container garden. Maybe that would be a good alternative for us! I will have to look into that this season. Good luck with your garden!

My daughter and I started a small container garden and when it gets even nicer here, we will transfer them to our outdoor garden. She is 4 this year, so she can finally help me with the plants. She is so excited!

Yeah, gardening is fun for kids. Wish I could put seeds in the ground here, but the soil is terrible, too much clay and alkali, I'm afraid. Good luck on your garden!

Funny you should mention that! I'm almost finished dismantling the aluminum shed that the wind knocked over a few weeks ago. I'm exhausted! But where it stood is where my garden will be, a nice 8x10 space just right for me. I'll have to put something around it to keep the dogs out, they've taken to laying down in that space for some reason. I'll plant tomatoes, green beans, peas, bell peppers, squash and a few other things including onions and potatoes. I'm gonna be awfully sore tomorrow!

I'm really hoping I can keep the wild bunnies out of my containers-they're everywhere out here!

Next year I plan to start my flower garden from seeds that I have collected thru out this season. I've enjoyed growing flowers from seed.I'd really like to start a seed swap for unusual flowers.Any one out there know how this is done?
