Our annual St. Patrick's Day party

My extended family is Irish and they have a party either the weekend before or the weekend after St. Patrick's Day ever year. I have not gone in about 5 years though. This year they decided to have it at my late grandfathers house and it will probably be the last party/holiday that will be held there since they are going to be selling the house soon.
Do you have an all out celebration for days like St. Patrick's Day or is it just another day to you?

Hubby had a similar eent to attend. But didn't go. It was too far, and our car was acting up since he had just made a long trip to his grandpa's wake. We celebrated on the day with the usual holiday corned beef.
