what is antipasta?

instead of researching it myself, i'd like to see what my fellow mylotters would post. english is just my second language and though i write for a publication on the net i have no idea what this term means.

We're on the same page dude. I've heard about this antipasta thing before but I didn't have the time to research it. Now, here in mylot, I've seen it again. Is it a term used to deny anything that's connected to pasta? Please enlighten us..

It is my understanding that it is an appetizer like a meat and cheese tray.

I think it's a meat and cheese platter, however I'm not really sure. You might check out www.foodnetwork.com and see if they have an explanation for it.
