Look out for her - she's got red hair!

I come from a family of red heads though I am a brunette myself. My mother's side were all reds and my daughter is a red head too. I have to say that I have had a foul temper for a long while in my life like my mother, but my sister had not had that temper and she was raised by my father who does not have red hair or a hot temper. It would appear that the reds have a worse temper but as I see my girl I don't think it is the case. What I think it is is that they usually have very very fair skin and with that they tend to have the flushed face and stuff look more visible then someone with darker skin so they appear to be way more upset than others in the family who don't have fair skin. I know my daughter has said that she hates it when people see that she goes flush cause she can't hid her emotions when she is frustrated. So maybe they just can't hide it as well as others. I don't think there is a scientific backing to the red head temper myth. Should send that off to Mythbusters.

My girlfriend is a natural redhead and may be the sweetest, kindest woman I have ever met. That is not to say that she doesn't have a fiery temper, but thankfully that is usually reserved for the people she works with in the kitchen as she is a chef cut from the same vitriolic cloth as Gordon Ramsay....hehehe

I am for sure a pussycat, but perhaps it has something to do with the fact I am not a natural redhead. I have died my hair red. I am actually blonde but I dislike the colour, or at least at the time being. I have had black hair for a long time aswell but red seems to be a colour I can really work with.

I still do die the hair in my neck black and the bottom part of my red hair is more darkish red too. It has a nice effect.

I come from a family of differing shades of red, I didn't inherit the red, I'm dark brown in colouring but I did inherit the feistyness associated with red heads! I have a terrible temper but with age I've had to learn to control it, when i was much younger it got me in some terrible trouble.

I have to tell you this quickly, it tickles me even to this day.
I once asked my mum why I didn't have red in my hair like my other three sisters, she said she hadn't got a clue, so I jokingly said "well i must be the coalmans, did he have dark brown hair? and you know she actually said quite seriously "I don't know he always wore a cap when he delivered the coal" cracks me up even now and she said this twenty years ago!

This may come as a bit of shock to you but I have been called feisty in my time and can have a fiery temper on me at times but ... I am a brunette so what does that say about me and your theory? LOL

All redheads I know personally are called fire crotch. They seem to like this nickname. I envisions pubes going up in flames and a bunch of guys being treated for 3rd degree burns on their manly bits.

But my temper is worse then all of my red headed friends put together so I think it is all about the power of suggestion.

If you suggest to a redhead that she could be a fiery hellcat then if she is so inclined to be such, she has the reputation as an excuse to be that way.

The same as all the blonds my daughter is friends with play the airhead part so well they should be on Broad Way!

What are brunettes supposed to be? And make it good, because so far I've been blaming my PMS for my behavior.:)

I am a redhead and so is two of my sons and my daughter.
The only one with the fiery temper is my youngest son but I put that more down to the terrible twos than the red hair.
My eldest son is a very shy peaceful loving boy who hates violence and it takes a lot for him to lose his temper but when he does,which happens once in a blue moon, it is best not to be around him.
I am the same as well.
My partner used to think that all red heads were that way and avoided dating any until we met which soon made him change his view on redheads as he now admits that he was wrong. (But then again he is outnumbered four to one LOL)

I think that probably started with the Irish, who tend to be hot-headed or so the stereotype goes. I think they are just passionate. I'm not a redhead but I had a very, very hot temper when I was younger and it took me most of my adult life to get it under control!

From my experience, it all depends on if the carpet matches the drapes. If we're talking the whole shebang here, then run like the wind brother 'cos you're gonna get a whuppin'!

I don't have red hair... some grey dyed to deepest darkest brown (that's what the colour reads on the box lol) and I don't have a fiery temper any more, did all that in my younger years. As they say, we mellow with age, I'm the pussycat type now.
