New Ideas

Mark Twain once said that the man with a new idea is a crank until the idea succeeds. That got me thinking, how many of us have refused to act on an idea because we were afraid that someone might disapprove or think it a bit ridiculous? We should never let the thought that others will laugh at it stop us from trying. There will of course be such people, but how are we going to know if the idea is good if we don't try? Think of how much further ahead the world might have been if more people had acted on their ideas. The next time you have a new idea that makes sense to you, act on it, I know I will.

Hi Pose dear! Whenever I have ideas, I really try to act on it. Many people close to me will tell me to think it over and weigh the pros and cons of the idea I wish to pursue. But I am the type who becomes restless when an idea is born in my mind and will not stop thinking about it unless I act on it. It really does not bother me much if I fail as long as I know that I have tried and tried. I know it is a risk and I know I may fail..but there is always a voice at the back of my mind that says..."What if it works out?"

Sometimes it's much better if I write it down and then go back and look at it later.
This practice has saved me a lot of trouble. I can react to something before I know the whole story and my feet are hard to get out of my mouth. A very good idea can be not so hot when viewed from a distance. Blessings

Hi savypat, Thank you for this and you make a very good point. My father had a sayings "sleep on it" which was something I didn't always want to hear, especially as a teenager lol. I agree that we should give something due consideration before plunging in head first and maybe writing it down and waiting a week or two would be the best way to do this. My main point however is that we should nor forget about something because others might tell us that it will never work. Blessings.
