Well a strong storm went through our town tonight and after it had already passed, out electricity went out. We had wanted to see Obama's speech on the TV. Well, we sat around for about 30 minutes and talked. It was still light outside so we were not sitting in the dark at least.
Hubby says, "I could start the generator and we could watch TV". Now how good is that? I hadn't really thought about it. I told hubby that we could always watch the speech on the net after our power came back. But we were able to watch it when it came on.
Anybody else have to use your generator lately?

My dad bought a generator during the last hurricane season so he wouldn't lose all the food in the refrigerator. That is my only experience with generators as they can be a bit complicated to operate safely.

I never use generator even when the electricity went out. I usually use candle in the dark night. It is very uncomvient if there is no electricity. I can do nothing except sleep. If I missed the intersted programs due to electricity, i always watch on internet when power get back.
