Your welcome. I was a member years ago and let it lapse. Probably during those times when Ronald Reagan was President. Things seemed safe as to 2d amendment rights. Those days are over. We must be ever vigilant.

The Freedom 1st mag is what I signed up for, too. Hopefully, we can get good discussions here about their articles.

Yes, it is. Tell everyone you know. Even liberals ought to sign up. Tell them it is so they can keep an eye on what the gun nuts are up to. Maybe a few will change their minds when exposed to what the NRA really believes.

I also signed up for the Freedom First magazine. I do not have a handgun, but I want to make sure that I can legally obtain one if I choose to. I fully support the right of my fellow citizens to have legal guns, if that right were removed, only the criminals would have guns and then who would protect the people?

I lived in Broward County Florida for a while, a long time ago. I felt safe there because concealed carry was legal, everyone had guns, which meant that a criminal was more likely to get shot in commission of a crime than he's be to get away with it.

Exactly right. Remember some years ago when foreign tourists in FL were being robbed? When they caught the guys doing it, they admitted they targeted their victims at airports as they arrived from overseas. Why? Because airport security guarnteed those folks were unarmed!

You are certainly welcome. I've never had a concealed weapons license, maybe some day. Fortunately, we do not have much broad daylight random violence around here. I may never get one.

Where I live, you can sometimes listen to the crickets keep up with the gunshots.lol You never know if they are shooting at the racoons that constantly invade us or the homeless that invade us.

You are welcome. This is a great move by the NRA. We need all the members we can get. Especially, the intelligent liberals. Many of these folks have extremely false notions as to what the NRA believes and practices. Hopefully, these free memberships can lure in some of these people to really learn about NRA positions.

Thank you for the BR. But, most especially thank you for the notice on this NRA marketing initiative. Hubby is really looking forward to adding the Charleton Heston commemorative knife to the collection.

I'm rather excited by the included admission to the Celebration of American Values Leadership Forum in May, in Phoenix. I'm not sure if our schedules permit, though I'd sure love to attend. Both are very nice bonuses to the lifetime membership option, as is the whole of the package!

We need a good gun club around here. You are lucky to have one. The problem here is that many people, myself included, have land in rural areas where it is legal to shoot anything you want so why pay to go some where and shoot? Still, a club would be a neat thing.

You're right. I'm lucky to have 2 good gun clubs nearby. It's a good place to get training and education, have some fun, and meet other people. I especially want my kids to get properly educated on firearm safety. It will be reinforced better if it comes from me and a knowledgeable authority.

You make a great point, Ima_C_Suvaya -- what is reinforced by a respected authority almost always means more to the novice.
