I think that when we have to take drivers education it should be taught WHAT sort of maintenance needs to be done and signs that it needs to be done...or CAUSES of certain things. I had a wheel alignment done today because i took it in because the tires were wearing oddly - didnt know why but apparently that happens when your tires are out of alignment. (i actually got to watch so cool they do it with cameras and lasers) I dont know how to tell my tires are bad dad says "the wires are showing" but i never see the wires. I know about oil changes and flushes and brakes. What else is there to be done with cars, trucks, for regular maintenance that i SHOULD do. Have you ever found that something needed to be done u didnt know about?

Shell Oil company used to put out a series of car maintenance pamphlets that were very easy to understand. Right now, hubby takes care of all the cars, but I do know how to open the hood, check the fluids, keep the air level up on the tires. If you take a penny and stick between the treads, part of his head should be covered or your tires are too worn. I have blown a timing chain before, among other fun activities. Yes, we should be taught to take care of our cars.

Much easier just to unplug the wires. Yep.
