Stop the war or WIN the war?

Once you are in the war field, there is no way to retreat. Your mission should be to win the war even if the cause of the war is not justified. Stopping on your front would be like surrendering and brave soldiers never doe so. Your mission would be to win the war by any means.
Of course if the opposite party comes forward for a truce it is ethical to accept that.
What is your view?

Let me try, very shy to tell. OK, in actual war no one will win. It depends on how much you lost. The lesser the better, you need resources to fight. The actual winning in war is peace and without using any resources. What is your opinion? I think that is bet bet better huh...happy mylotting.

It hard to tell my friend specially in the situation of the soldier because they have the order to follow. For me, if possible war should not be the means to acquire peace. I considered it a possible one when some of our higher authorities have some other personal purpose of themselves. Don't you know that war is a big business for big suppliers of different modern armaments? The soldiers of each countries are all the pawns being push by our higher authorities. These soldiers had just been given promotions and any form of lucrative family incentives to cover up the whole business of our big capitalists. That's the naked truth..thanks nice topic

War nowadays has taken on a different concept. It's all about money and loss of lives seems not to enter into it any more.
If a truce is possible then any and all wars should be ended. I see nothing intelligent in a war at all

In those days war was often event and it had some meaning too but now the wars are cold and they get heated up with mutual supply of weapon under the sea and on the surface say we are against any fight whatsoever.
India could wag a war against Pakistan after the Mumbai incident
but India is peace loving country!!!!!!!!!!

The object of waging war is to win it and it shouldn't be quit without the win. Unless, of course, it's a meaningless political sideshow started by a leader that is hungry for power.

Do you mean the war on the battlefield? My view on this issue is that I would rather die in honor than retreat.lol Soldiers'duty is to fight but not retreat.Of course, the best solution to wars is to stop it.

Hello Rajib Ji,
As a wife of retired Ex-Soldier, who witnessed mass-sutrender by Pakistani Forces after
1971 war, I feel, soldier should never surrender. At all cost, war should be won. This
holds good for both sides. May god bless you and have a great time.

i would say WIN but if you are referring to the iraq war its just out of control and it doesnt seem to be going anywhere (from what the news tells us at least.. who knows what the truth is) that i think we should just leave.. i think we have helped them (if we can say that depending on how you look at it) set up a guild line on how to run their country so they should be able to by now.. but what do i know??

I didn't get your point. What are you talking about? A troop should stop the war or win the war but when? If the war is being fought then one has to win or loose to stop it.
The other thing is that we don't kill people unless and until we know them and have been enemies for years but soldiers has to kill people whom they don't know at all! They fight for nation and they feel that they are nation and the other person is from other nation which is their enemies. Hence they have to fight.

There you are again with the same dialogue. Come on man it is the war and who wants to lose it? Would you? Suppose you were in the forefront, what would you do? Win the war or make a truce?

If coming out a winner means even one more life would be lost is it really worth continuing? Wouldn't surrendering be the higher road to take? In my mind I don't see any intelligent reason for war.
Some might say what about defending ourselves from attack? I guess it is not a black and white issue and how many lives risk being lost is the most important issue to consider.
War is a no win scenario, there are no winners in war.

Hi Rajib...a very touchy subject indeed!...I think there are different wars being fought for different reasons. Many of which I dont understand and therefore I am not qualified to give my opinion.
I do think in that in the case of terrorism, do we really think that when the terrorists say they want a truce, that they really do? No, they want time to rebuild their forces, collect more money for ammo from outside countries and continue their nasty attacks.
For an example, from what I know, the Sri Lankan army is very brave to go full steam ahead, without any help from anyone else. THose terrorists are not going to quit so neither should the SL army til they regain control.
In order to gain freedom and a safe country, there is going to be lives lost. It is inevitable, but it would be worse if the wrong people were allowed to take over.
Its fine for everyone to say,,,No war,,,but do they really understand what would happen if there wasnt?

I don't agree with war, but I suppose it is just a byproduct of being human. A sad by product. I honestly hope all these wars end soon.

I think to stop the war is a better idea, its not a question of wining or losing, its a question of lives, So I am never in favour of war like things...
