How could you cancel your tag from your car or trailer?

If you already applied your car tag or a trailer tag; but for some reason you wreck the car, or the trailer is no longer there. How could you cancel your tag from the tag office?

Call the office and tell them what happened and ask what to do. They should be able to tell you.
