Yahoo Answers Feature Good For Mylot

Before I started mylotting I was a little addicted to Yahoo Answers. Okay, I was a lot addicted. Well there is a feature there that allows the question starter to throw the question up and see what others think is the best answer! There's been times when people here, including myself if not mainly myself, have had trouble figuring out which is the best response! If we add a feature like this to mylot then not only will the discussion possibly get more responses, but also people might just start to actually read the discussion and responses before responding. Guilty as charged to not reading the whole discussion / responses at times, so don't worry your not alone if you do the same!

i think MyLot has that option, but it is the topic poster that has the choice or ability to choose the best response. what i think is a more specific thing is, toget the best response in the top discussions for the day and give that person high rewards buxx

Oh I know that mylot already has the option for the discussion poster to give best response but sometimes it's hard to decide and I thought that it would be nice to give the opportunity to mylot posters to decide. I'm not sure about high rewards though but I guess that would be nice. I appreciate the response.

Well I'm not sure if it will be, but if it was to be that would be very nice. Although I assume that they would have to decide to give incentive to those who vote on a best response. I appreciate the response.

Hi there My favorite Cowgirl. Yet another good topic from you. Choosing a best response, a choice to be let to the other people to take, and the majority decides - i think that sounds rather well in general - while some people may try to influence in a bad manner this system, overall it should be a good system, especially if people get involved and respond to discussions.

Oh I would hope no one would try to influence badly, although I hadn't actually thought of those who have relatives etc, here. My fiance's also a member here, and I wouldn't want him to reward me with best response every time he sees me on a undecided discussion. I would hope everyone would utilize the option fairly! I appreciate the response.

i think that our present way to choose the best response is alright with me. i don't see any need to have all to determine who is the best response. for me the thread starter should decide which one is the best answer . so that people will be motivated to make their discussions.

Yes I agree but there are times when it's hard to pick the best response, and I feel that it would be great for those who couldn't pick to throw it up to mylot to pick! There might be some interesting proposals! I appreciate the response.

I was very addicted aswell. I hated when there was a limit on how much answers you could reply to on a day depending on your rank. (laughs) used to get so cross! That would be a great feature to add to mylot. If the owner of the discussion does find it hard to choose a best response, then they should be able to tick a option to let others vote! If it's an unresolved discussion for more than 4 months I would think it should go straight to us to vote.

Oh I forgot about the limits about daily questions / answers, I guess it was there to gauge the seriousness of the answerer, well ofcourse that and the report button. Well Four months sounds like a reasonable amount of time to give to the owner of a discussion. I know I never get around to doing best responses, I need to start doing that! I keep saying that, but never do! I appreciate the response.

I gave up on Yahoo Answers a long time ago because the quality of the answers was dismal. I do not know why people answer questions they obviously know nothing about. It seemed to be populated by kids who seemed compelled to answer like on their school tests even if they knew nothing in the hope of getting marks. Of course there are lots of intelligent answers too, but not the majority. Maybe it has changed in the year or so since I quit going there. A voting system of best response by everyone instead of just the original poster would be an interesting addition.

I know that when I was answering questions there the quality of other answers were slim to none. I may have done a few just the same, but I've stopped going there and don't remember which yahoo account I was under while doing Yahoo! Answers. I think that there had been one question of mine that was answered in a rude manner. Glad you think my idea of utilizing the same concept for mylot is interesting. I appreciate the response and have a wonderful day.

This is a pretty good discussion baby and I am sure that a lot of people have used Yahoo Answers before to get questions answer, and I am sure there are people who like the fact that you can throw the question up and see what others think is the best response, and then I am sure there are some who like that one person picks what they think is the best response, and I know you told me you used to be addicted to Yahoo Answers and I know even when you moved in here for a while you were on Yahoo Answers a lot,I have never used Yahoo Answers before but it does seem like a good place to get questions answered, and it does sound very helpful that you can throw the questions up and let others decide what they think is the best response and I know when I start a discussion I always have trouble deciding who deserves the best response and I know it would be a whole lot easier on me if I could get others to tell me what they think is the best response, and if mylot did that then people might read the discussions completely and it might would get more people to respond to the discussions,I love you with all my heart and soul, have a great day, good luck with all your mylotting goals, and Happy Posting.

That is a good idea - I like when users can vote to determine the best answer, especially when a question is unresolved for a long period of time. I have to admit - I was pretty obsessed with Yahoo! Answers, too, until I found myLot.

Haha same here. I was way addicted to yahoo answers before I decided to give mylot a shot. I think that feature that allowed you to vote would be an excellent idea because not only would it keep the community more involved but it would allow there to be a best answer if the asker had not decided to pick one best answers. I know that I do not read the whole discussion at times, and with voters voting on which answer is the best, it would allow users to find the most relevant answers right away. Great idea!

Wow I didn't really think of the relevance to the answers, lol, but that's basically the system for yahoo answers, isn't it? I guess I've been here on mylot for awhile, forgot about that aspect. Not that being here's a bad thing! I appreciate the response.
