Hi...to all my friends! I had a forced holiday (and it wasn't the Beverly Hills Hotel)....at least I didn't have to shovel snow, bring in wood, or cook my own meals! Just thot I would let you know why I haven't responded to your discussions & I do feel bad! Will try & catch up! It was NOT planned, it started with sores on my tongue (like cankers) then to my lower lip, then down my throat, ears throbbed, glands swollen...and the NEXT thing, extreme Chest pain (heart. Rushed to Emergency, and it was a Virus that had gone into my heart! Lots of I.V.s & drugs.....am weak, but back to haunt you all! I was supposed to be informed yesterday what Virus (or strain) it was...but all attendees at Hospital thot it was very strange to go into my heart! Thank gosh, my son was with me...as the Doctor told us that I would have made it one more day! Sadly, my son took it a heck of a lot harder than I! Cheers....and I am out raking the yard in the sunshine....Love to all of you! Have you heard of such a strange virus..and will let you know when I find out!

Thank you, my dear friend, for your kind caring....and warm thoughts! I truly appreciate them! I truly do apologize for not responding to your discussions, and will try and catch up soon, but my energy level is quite low (that's not like me.) If it weren't for my son, who knows, but he was home for the weekend (I had been gettin sicker, by the day...and he can tell when my energy is low)so he laid down the law...and said "get cleaned up, Mom" we are going to Emergency! I would not have gone on my own, as it is a 2 hour Ferry ride, then a 45 minute bus ride, and a mile walk! I knew I was sick enuff not to drive! AS they say, "all is well, that ends well." And, I am truly thankful for my guardian angel...my son! And having you as a friend, helps me to rally! Thank you...and Cheers!

Aren't we just the luckiest persons in the world to have such wonderful children...hmmm~~~~Did WE do something right, I gotta think so! And "thank you" for sharing, about your wonderful son, I just wished the Dr. hadn't told my son, so much (like one more day, and it is possible this "bug" came from Brazil) and now he is feeling like he is responsible! Each day, I am rallying, and the afternoon in the sun yesterday...was mentally & physically very healing! Truly did miss my special friends here on myLot, like you! Cheers!

bless your heart, u have no reason to apologize. i'm just thankful for your son & that u are feeling better. your son sounds like my youngest. when i had the stroke he was out of town . when he called i told him what had happened to me. of course i didn't know it was a stroke. next thing i knew he was at the door, had already called my dr. at home , it was on a sunday , & told me to get ready we were going to the er. thank god for sons. u just take care of yourself & get all better. don't worry about answering me if u don't feel like it. just so you know i'm wishing u the best.

I wondered where you had been! What a terrible experiance! The only thing I have heard of that is remotely similar is Strep Throat. It is a pretty dangerous thing but there is testing that pretty much catches that right away. WOW! Do keep us informed and let us know. I am anxious to hear about this virus. Thanks and I'm glad your back!

They are narrowing it down, DR.JEN, and feel that it does belong to the Streptococci family...but seriously mutated...will know in another day or two! It's amazing what a massive dose of sunshine does for the soul...and that's physically too! I truly felt like I was regaining my strength at a rapid pace! I must have thot of you...at least 50 times last nite, not having cable/satellite TV I was depressed that I would miss the Academy of Country Music Awards, and just knew in my heart that you were watching! Have a little 13" TV, with Rabbit Ears, and that little guy picked them up, good quality, on a channel I've never picked up before! WOW! I was soooooo touched with Toby Keith's performance, and thot of you the whole time, hoping that you were enjoying them, too! Forever in Country! Cheers!

some years ago my son something close to what you have described. His mouth and throat were full of canker like sores and he was running a fever. They claimed it was an allergy to some kind of medication he had taken. He was in the hospital several days and couldn't eat any thing but cream of mushroom soup. I don't think they really knew what it was. he sure was miserable for those few days until the canker sores healed.

They just claimed it was a medicine reaction. I don't remember what he was on at the time. but it put him in the hospital too. One dr thought it could be something like chicken pox because when he was little and had them he didn't break out very much and that was way before they started giving shots for them. As for the mushroom soup it was hospital soup.

Thank you, deebomb, for your kind thoughts ...I truly do appreciate hearing from you! I wonder, did they ever find the "bug" that your son had! Yes, I had canker sores, seemed like everywhere.....and I guess if I wasn't of such a stubborn nature I could have ended it there, with medical intervention! Despite my age, I do not have a regular Dr., and only go to the Walk-Ins, when I need to be carried in! It was my son, whom interceded, and took control, as I was feeling all the signs of an M.I., and it was the infection in my heart! NO, I have NOT learned my lesson, LOL! I am NOT so sure the "Mushroom Soup" would NOT be better than hospital FODDER! All seems to be under control, except the Cankers in my mouth, taking their time to heal....and I hate the meds for them! Thank you, deebomb & Cheers!

Hi, my dear girl! Sorry to trouble you with my own small problems, when reading your posts (tho I have responded to a few) you are having your own share of MAJOR problems, that dwarf mine! I am truly thankful, that my son was home, as he took matters into his own hands, as he could see by my demeanor/appearance that I was NOT the Mom, he was used to! It started with canker like sores, on my lips, then tongue, then throat, then ears blocked, glands swollen, fever...and then SEVERE chest pain, like having a Myocardial Infarction...sweating, stetorous breathing! What they put in the I.V. drip, I will never know, but orally I took Atavan (whilst in hosp.) And then at home "Novo-Azithromycin" and Oracourt! They seem to be having trouble isolating this "bug"...and wondered if I had been travelling..and the nearest we could think of was, my son just getting home from Brazil, and carrying something home with him in the many gifts he brought! Thank you for you kind thots....and will keep updated! Cheers!

I have never heard of such a weird virus either. I hope they tell you what it was so that you may be able to avoid certain things that may have given you the virus in the first place. Good thing your son was there. Hope your feeling like yourself soon Hugs, StrawberryKisses

Hi, my friend, so nice to hear from you & your good wishes! Yes, it truly sapped my strength! Normally I rally very fast from any illness, but I guess when your heart is involved, it takes a bit more time! Hospital yesterday, still did not have results of tests! Treatment is over, so now healing time! Just so many "bugs" out there today, I guess it is hard to compartmentalize them! So nice to hear from you....are you well, as you have been quiet here lately? Know I care & Cheers!

Thank you, feathers26...for your good wishes! Isn't strange...the place we go to get well, just doesn't seem to have the environment to promote healing! One mends so much faster, when one is at home in a cozy environment, and can get out into the sunshine, fresh air....and eat what one wants! Our hospitals, in B.C., are notorious for serving the most unpalatable food! Once again, thank you for your warm thots! Cheers!
