what have been ur reaction when u found out that your love had leukemia? |
|
leukemia for me is a type of cancer which is very much difficult to cure/heal. i've heard a lot of people dying from this ailment and i don't think anyone would want to have this kind sickness except for those who wishes to die painfully...
supposing you had a loved one who had leukemia, what do you think would be your initial reaction? would you be in the denial stage?

I did know a little girl who was only 3 years old when she got a bone marrow transplant after being diagonosed with leukemia. She did great and is a survivor. I ran into them about a year ago and she is a perfectly healthy little girl.

3. jd107nette (391) | 9 months ago | definitely I would firstly be in a denial stage... Where I'd go to several doctors and hospitals in order to confirm if my loved one really has the leukemia... Second opinion wouldn't be enough to satisfy me especially if even the second opinion suggests that he/she also has leukemia... haha.. At first it would be hard to believe... But I would try not to over react right in front of my loved one. Because i understand that no matter how much I deny the fact no matter how hard it is for me, or how much I suffer worrying of my loved one, the one really in pain and in deep suffering is the person himself...

With the current medical technology, it's much easier for a leukemia patient to recover from the sickness, and they do live after chemotherapy/ transplant.
However, when one do discover that they have leukemia, I believe most of the people will be in the denial stage, and wants further test to confirm if it's really leukemia. Even though the medical technology nowadays is very advanced, to know that one's loved one have such sickness is really quite depressing... But as treatment is usually very long (around 6 months or even longer), a lot of positive support from family members, and friends are very important... I know the feeling as I've been thru it...
