Voices in my head...

Currently, I'm dipping into Bachelor Brothers' Bed and Breakfast. It is written by Bill Richardson, a CBC broadcaster with a distinctive, shall we say theatrical, way of speaking, and that's what I hear in my head when I'm reading it. The same thing happened when I read a book by Stuart McLean, coincidentally another CBC broadcaster, who tends to the school teacher declamatory mode of speaking... When you read something where you are familiar with the author's voice, do you hear that voice in your head?

Yes, I do hear the author's voice. One of our writing group members writes a column for the newspaper. Whenever I read it I can hear him reading it. The same with the books that have been published by some of our other members. Unfortunately I'm not one of them.

Thanks for your vote of confidence. It would happen if I could just pull myself away from the internet and focus on editing my novel. Tons of laundry and chauffering don't help either.
