30 Cats that is too many Cats!

I nickname my mother "crazy cat lady" (the simpsons) We had anywhere between 3-15 cats at any one time when I was growing up, and I agree that even 3-4 can be enough and hard to handle especially if they are all indoor cats. We took in strays, abandoned cats, kittens....you name it, we took it haha. I have one cat at the moment and will not get any more simply because my cat is not a great fan of other cats....he's a people cat, not a cat cat, if you catch my drift lol. My best friend has 8 cats and they struggle when it comes to vets and food etc. Way too expensive, and I would never own that many again. I think 3 is the most I could have at one time. My mother is just a sucker for animals though, and I understand her point of view, but seriously, enough is enough and 15 was too many rofl.

now that would be way to many cats for me, but hey if someone else feels they want 30 cats then who am i to judge. i say go for it. I love cats i really do, but i personally wouldn't want that many cats in my home. i take my hat off to anyone who can do that

i have one cat and sometimes i think even that is too many cats. i couldnt imagine having that many cats! seriously, are they all indoor cats? that would drive me nuts, but i bet the people have no mice in their house!

Hey there marcia Yes I agree with you I do think 30 cats is way too many, her house must smell! My brother's ex-wife had four once and I thought that was too many and they were always up on the kitchen table and on the kitchen surfaces that made me cringe because that is where food is prepared and she wasn't the cleanest of people it has to be said!!

Love cats or was he a seller of cats! Did you ask him if he was a seller or not?

And I thought I had a lot. I have 17 cats. I have 6 liter boxes that have to be cleaned several times a day. We are buying big bags of food every week. And then there are the vet bills. My cats are pretty healthy but they still need shots and stuff every so often. I am trying to find homes for some of the ones I have because its costing me way too much money. I think 30 cats would cost a lot more.

More than 3 animals at home would be way too much for me, but I am not going to judge anyone. In fact, cats are better to be at home than on the streets. I would probably like to help with foster animals when needed if I wouldn't work. I used to keep my garage open during the last winter to help local animals to survive. I know that at least one cat was sleeping in the garage. Hugs

That is way too many. They are not into cat breeding are they, or are they on a mission to rescue all the cats? And would it not be too selfish, hoarding all those cats and kittens and all those little girls around who want a kitten, but cannot have them because that mean old lady has all of the cats. She could at least give some of them away.

To me personally I would say that thirty cats is too many!!! I had three at one point and that was too many for me they were hard work and they always wanted attention so I cannot imagine how it would be with thirty all wanting to sit on my knee!!! Then there is the smell, too many cats can be a bit smelly thirty must be horrendous especially if they spray their scent around the house. No I think thirty is too many.

Hi there Marcia Scott. I agree that 30 Cats is way to much and i was actually thinking about the shows i see on "Animal Rescue" on Animal Planet about people having to many animals or animals in a bad shape. I think 1-2 cats is more than enough, and if you really want more pets, you could try a bird, or some fish...

Well I am not a lover of cats and I dont want to speak out agianst any one love of these animals.However for me one would be too much ,so DEFINITELY thirty is a no no.I am happy though for that person if tehy are really into cats

Wow 30 cats that is crazy. Can you imagine how much it would cost to feed all those! I love cats and we own three of them and two dogs and even that many take quite a bit of looking after. I don't think I could cope with a small army of cats.

Oh my that is REALLY a lot there...hahaha...I can't even take care of my baby kitty that well with her always running around the house looking for places to pee secretly just to annoy me..ahahahah...^_^

I could never have that many cats, besides being extremely expensive, I'd be afraid my house would smell like a giant litterbox! I have 2 inside kitties, and one barn kitty. (You have to have a kitty in the barn to control rodents...that's life on a farm lol.) 3 is plenty for me. The only reason I have 2 inside is because the one that was there first was looking like she was going to die, and the vet didn't give her a lot of hope. She was 17 then. So...I took in a rescue cat and gave it a home, thinking the other one wouldn't make it much longer. That was about 4 years ago and the old one perked up with the new one in the house, so I guess I can't complain if the old one needed a companion hahaha. No, I couldn't have 30, maybe she has an animal shelter or something. Hope you had a nice Easter!!

ONE is too many for me - I am so not that cat person... But if this person lives on a farm or something, then 30 cats isn't so bad. I know that there have been reports of people having that many in a one-bedroom apartment!

There was a woman used to live quite close to here who had a great amount of cats. Eventually, she had them taken away from her because no, you can't properly care for thirty cats at any one given time, even with all the best will in the world. They end up becoming wild and quite hungry. Brightest Blessings, my friend.

I can deal with one cat at a time. Maybe this person is very lonely and needs that much company. I don't know if they are all in her house, but if they are, that is one nasty house. I hope that she finds a substitute for all those animals.

we have one cat and for us I think that is enough. though, we do have a couple of strays hanging around all the time. I have heard of folks having an enormity of cats like that they are often refered to as the "cat lady" (it always seems to be women, doesn't it, with this peculiarity?) There is an obsessive compulsive disorder that manifests in hoarding, some people hoard trash and others animals... guess it could be worse I have read that there are some people compelled to hoarding human/animal feces.

Having 30 cats is definitely having a lot of cats... although I don't know if it's "too many" :P I guess it depends on how much space the person has and what purpose he/she has for owning that number of cats - maybe he/she has a show about cats or something, or maybe he/she visits special homes and let his/her cats play with sick people for therapy :P Thanks for the response on my discussion!
