Aion: The Tower of Eternity  

Is this a free to play/F2P game? I am from philippines, can I play it based on my location?

Good day, fellow countrymen! I am currently playing on one of the Chinese servers. They have released an official English patch to accommodate international players who have no knowledge of the Mandarin language. The open beta has ended and the game has entered the P2P phase. It is advisable to be able to speak a little Mandarin though if you desire to understand what the local players are saying. Most aren't very fluent in English. Based on my experience, some players are quite hostile towards foreigners who can't speak their language. It just depends on who you encounter. I met some nice people out there as well. However, you can seek for English speaking players as well if you don't wanna play the game alone through the channel/world/find group chat. Anyway, on to the subscription fees. They are quite expensive compared to what you guys may be used to in the Philippines. You pay by the minute though so you don't have to feel bad about wasting your game time while not playing. You can purchase them from websites such as CN-USA. I use paypal for transactions like these just to be on the safe side. The cheapest is worth $0.53(2 hours and 5 minutes) and the most expensive is worth $36.05(around 400+ hours).

Aion is a p2p game , personally i think when this comes out it will be the best one out till a game called Blade and soul comes out , same company nc soft . go check it out

Best MMORPG out there is still World of Warcraft. They even say Aion is the new WoW-killer but that's the same thing they've said about Warhammer, LoTRO, DAoC, Lineage2, Guild Wars, etc. I say this because I have no love for games made by Koreans. The story is not solid and it lacks the "Epic" feel from it. The lore is forgettable and plain. The graphics might be great but graphics alone doesn't make a game "the best there is". World of Warcraft even has a new expansion coming out that is based heavily on its running storyline - Cataclysm! If you want plain ol' grinding with a different feel then go to Aion. If you wan't a game with an epic storyline and a superb lore and gameplay then I suggest you switch to WoW.

I think Aion isn't and will not be the best MMORPG p2p, at least for me, I hate games where you can't jump and run around the enemy to kill it, especially in PvP, it's sad to "HEY, A PLAYER OF THE OPPOSITE FACTION, LET'S KILL HIM!1!!1", then it's run -> hit, hit, hit, hit -> death.

I just started playing this game, love it. I play both this and world of warcraft. Both are excellent games. Some say Aion is better, but I think that's just becuase it's new. Both are great as they both offer different things and different styles of play. I think I would call it a tie.
