Having kids is not as easy as 'ok I'm ready'  |

|  My new husband and I are totally ready to have children. We have been trying for some time now with no luck. I have tried everything from timing, body temperature to estimate ovulation. I have taken Geritol which a few people suggested as it readies your uterus for bearing children, and might I add, it was miserable to take because that stuff tastes NASTY!!! I have tried an herbal tincture that was supposed to increase fertility. I have done yoga and meditation. I have used prayer, energy filled stones, fertility symbolic jewelry, magnetic bracelets. I have taken ovulation tests. Still....nothing. I am scared to death to go to the doctors just to hear them say that we cannot have kids, or that I will need to take fertility drugs. I do not want to take fertility drugs. I'm not sure of what other options I have but I'm about out of ideas and am feeling depressed and helpless. Anybody have any other ideas? Please.....I'd love to hear them.

| |  Well I'm sure there are a ton of things you could try but it sounds like you just need to relax. Enjoy your husband and enjoy life pretty soon a baby will come just relax and let it happen, think about other things pick up a hobby that makes you happy. Good luck.

| | Thanks for the advise. I have tried to just 'not think about it'. We took a break from trying for a while. This is something that has been ongoing for 3 years now. I'm getting worried because I'm now 30 and I don't want to wait much longer. I just feel at a loss. I think I just might have to see a specialist. At least to find out why, or what the problem is. Maybe it's something simple. I know I have a tilted uterus. Maybe that is why. I'm just so worked up about going because I'm so scared of what they will tell me that I'm making it worse then it needs to be. I guess I do need to take your advice....I do need to just relax. | | | |

| |  Talk to your dr about it, and have him give you a referral to a fertility dr. Not to get the drugs *which are only extra hormones* they will be able to test you and your husband, and also give you options *yes there's options more than one* about what you guys want to do.

| |  I have always believed that you have to know the facts before you can deal with life so you really should see a doctor in order to find out *if* you have a problem. It could just be that you and your husband are trying too hard. A friend of my daughter's *tried* for years to get pregnant and then gave up. It didn't take long after that for her to get pregnant. Stress can do things to your body and, if you're stressed out about getting pregnant, you may be causing a physical reaction in your body. Also, trying too often can lower your husband's sperm count. Find out if there is a problem and go from there.

| |  I know a lady that tried to get pregnant for eight years then she gave up. The next thing was she got pregnant with identical twin boys. I know another lady that tried for ages to get pregnant. She and her husband went on holiday and being more relaxed she got pregnant. You seem to be doing excellent things to try to get pregnant. However stress can prevent pregnancy happening so I suggest a holiday. You need to be relaxed and feel happy. Seeing a doctor might set your mind at rest. You might like to find out your ph level.
