Which hymns are most moving to you?  |

|  In church services, few things are as moving as the congregation singing together.
For me, I love the standards like How Great Thou Art and It is Well With My Soul (which has a brief shout out to "my lot", you can look it up.)
Which ones are the greatest source of inspiration to you?

| | By Horatio Spafford in the late 1800's wrote this hymnal (check it out on cyberhymnal.org) where they play the music and show the words... great resource!
I made a pun about my lot... here is the stanza I referred to:
When peace like ariver attendeth my way, when sorrows like sea billows roll,
whatever my lot though has taught me to say, it is well, it is well with my soul.

| |  I love Amazing Grace, but can not sing through the whole song. It was sung at my fathers funeral. I also like Victory in Jesus, I Can Only Imagine, Shout To The Lord, Lord I Lift Your Name On High. One of my favorites that we sing for the invitaion is Come Home, I think that is the right name or it may be All Sinners Come Home. Either way I like it.

| |  How Great Thou Art, It Is Well With MY Soul, and the one I am lstening to now, Amzaing Grace. This one is sung in cherokee and I was introduced by it here on mylot. It is a very beautiful song!

| |  There are so many! Of course Amazing Grace,Be wtih me Lord, Hand in Hand with Jesus, In the Garden, God Will take care of you, and What a Friend we have in Jesus. There are so many others. Some songs appeal more to me depending on the circumstance of my life at the time. Some are special to me because they are my family members favorites, etc.. Some remind me of church when I was growning up or chorus when in school.

| | My favourite hymn has to be Amazing Grace. I think that this is because of the story behind it and what influenced it being written. John Newton wrote it and his life story was the main source of ideas for the hymn. He went from being a slave ship captain to being a Christian minister which just shows how powerful God's grace is. | | | | | | |
