Is there a right way of playing Sudoku?

I don't think there's a "right or wrong" way to do Sudoku, I think whatever works for you is just fine. I use a lot of "strategies" that I can't really explain - because I'd probably sound like a madman. I try to find any little way to figure out where a number goes, and sometimes it works - and sometimes it doesn't. I don't think there's just ONE strategy when it comes to getting fast at it.

I start with just looking at one number then the next (1-9 or I go from 9-1) and seeing if I can fill in any of those. That's to say, I go from one square to another to fill in 1, and once I reach all the squares, I'll go to 2. Then I go by the squares themselves, and see if I can fill in any of the missing numbers (1-9) based on just the square... then to the next square. Lastly, I go across or down/up.

I don't think there is really a specific way to do it, just to be consistent so you don't keep checking the same up/down, across, or squares over and over. For harder puzzles, it takes me about 10 minutes, for the easier ones, I'll be done in a couple minutes.

I don't think there is a specific right way to solve sudoku puzzle. For me personally, I'll go row by row or column by column in stead of going by number.
