Do You Prefer E-Books or Hard-Copy Books? email this discussion to a friend?

Nowadays with the advancement of technology and the internet, e-books are becoming more popular. So, the question is, do you prefer to read on your computer or notebook or do you prefer to have a hard-copy book to read?

Although e-books are much more convenient, but I still prefer the traditional hard-copy books where I can flip the pages and put a bookmark on.

If I need to read the whole book, I must get a hard-copy. I can't watch the sreen too long, which make my eyes uncomfortable. But if I want search something in the book or read some parts of the book, I will use an E-book. I can get them online easily. That almost cost me nothing.

That's true ... it's just straining to the eyes when looking at the screen too long.

I have not gotten around much with E-books. I'm more of a hard-copy book kinda girl. What I read on the internet are forums/discussions, or chats, or news, emails, etc. But for E-books, I yet have to find my way through it. For now, it is still hardbound for me.

well, sometimes what I would do is that I would print out those e-books if it is not too many pages and read them as hard-copies.

I prefer traditional books for several reasons
1. Reading on th internet is bad for our eyes. My eyes always feel sore after surfing the internet of sometime
2. Traditional book is more convenient, we can take it with us in our handbags. Whenever I have some free time, I can take it out and enjoy it
3. I just love the feeling when I hold a book in hand, it makes me feel enriched and steady.

If i needed to read a book, i must buy a hard copy of that book.. i don't like reading ebooks online or ebooks in smart phones as they are kind of hard to read, the letters are too small, etc.. the scrolling of every page is the hardest part for me.. so i still prefer the hard copy books..

for me...i prefer hard-copy books becouse you can sit and read wherever you want, whenever you want and it's not harming your vision.
But e-books..you can read only in computer, only in one or two position(depends on chair),and it's bad for vision.
E-book has one very good side..it's really easy to find it on internet, you don't hve to go to library,or shopping store or somewere else and spend money fo that.Easy ))
thank you,you have a nice day.
Bye bye.

I too have a huge collection of E-books, but I find reading E-books as a very irritating and boring task.
Specially when it comes to reading novels, stories, I prefer hard copies sice they are easy to carry in hand, can be carried even on bed or in the toilet and we can sleep with them.
I use E-books of only those topics that I have to refer very seldomly. Like those of programming books of Java, C++ etc. because in that case, I don't have to read a lot.
Reading E-books causes eye strain, and I try to avoid it until and unless a certain emergency arises.

I prefer the hard copy than ebook. I know that now everywhere in this world yelling about global warming and going green. But as a generation from transition era, i have experienced much with paper reading. Ebook is good and can save our world forest and suitable with go green campaign. But for some purpose, hard copy is much better, such as reading a bad time story. When you asleep, you can put your hard copy book besides your bed quickly. But if you use ebook reader when you asleep, it would be electricity power wasting a whole night, and it's possible your ebook reader broken on the morning. I personally think ebook could be generally accepted on my future grandson's generation era. Currently we are on transition era. Have a nice day and happy mylotting.

I prefer hard-copy cause I don't like staying focused on text on my screen. The light is really not pleasant if they maybe made a less lit portable screen just for e-books that is really thin than I might consider reading e-books.

I prefer hard-copy books, actually usually paperback, because I can be in a more comfortable chair and can read while watching TV. Also, trying to read a book on a screen is not easy on my eyes and is just less convenient as far as all the mechanics of reading go.
