As I understand it,Milk products including icecream increase mucous production in the body,so your problem is no surprise here..do you use dairy free products to control things,or try to avoid dairy products?

Hello Sweets I am asthmatic also but have not noticed a problem with milk products. I do eat/drink lots of milk products daily so I don't think it is my problem. xoxoxoxoxo

Sounds like you have a allergy towards dairy products. It's hard to cut yummy dairy items out the diet when they taste so good. Dairy products bother me also but sometimes I can't resist them. When I eat or drink anything with dairy in it my sinuses bother me more then usual. I suspect it's because I have a bit of some type of dairy allergy and it creates more mucus in my head the usual. So I have basically cut dairy products out of my diet, but sometimes I can't resist ice cream and yogurt. Another reason I've cut out dairy is because most dairy items are filled with high cholesterol and I have to keep my cholesterol down . 3 years ago I was diagnosed with high cholesterol and I had to make some changes in my diet to get it down. Last year I had my cholesterol checked again and it was normal, which I'm glad, that show's that with a few changes to my diet I can keep healthy. Instead of using cow milk I use rice milk and eat soy cheese. Buy sometimes I have to have my ice cream, but anything in moderation is fine as long as I don't over due it. I recently found a store that carries ice cream made with rice milk and I'm going to stock my fridge this summer with rice milk ice cream. The only thing I can suggest is maybe try ice cream made with rice milk, it's pretty good and it probably will not set off your asthma. Good Luck!

Hey cher~ I don't have asthma so I really wouldn't know. I have net heard that before. But, if your doctor says that mild products can bother it I guess he would know. That is a shame! You can't even enjoy ice cream! I used to be lactose intolerant. I could sometimes eat milk products and other times I couldn't. I seem to be better as I have gotten older. It was mostly cheese that I had problems with and milk. I was fine when I had ice cream. I guess it all depended on how much milk was in whatever I was eating. So maybe it can also reverse in you too.
