| lazeebee (4528) | 8 months ago | I like the Adventure of the Speckled Band, and the Dancing Men. Other detective stories that I enjoy are from authors like Jeffrey Deaver. His leading character, Lincoln Rhymes, is just as intuitive as Holmes; and he has a great mind, despite that he's a quadriplegic. Other authors that I like are Ed McBain, Ruth Rendell, Martha Grimes, Lawrence Block, Anne Perry and Lawrence Sanders. | |

I find that Sherlock Holmes is a really interesting detective, which is why I want to read more stories with this detective in it. They're very interesting stories, worth reading in my opinion.

They stimulate the mind and this was the main reason I became an avid reader of the series. It is rather unfortunate that the author stopped writing more stories around the character he created/

He wrote in one of the prefaces to the books that he eventually got tired of writing about Holmes, and he wanted to pursue some other angles on literature. In fact, Doyle had intended that The Final Solution be the last story, until reaction from the fans prompted him to bring back the character. | |

There interesting for a lot of reasons, and the methods by which Holmes manages to come to a solution are always interesting and thought provoking. | |
