Books or books on tape?  

It really depends, most times I prefer to read myself. I read much faster than any audiobook can read to me. I'll try following along with the audiobook and find myself three pages ahead of the person reading. However there are times where I can't read by myself for whatever reason. (Sometimes a headache, or maybe I just got my pupils dilated at the eye doctor's) Then I can listen to an audio book and still get my book fix.

I perer reading my books my self I never listen to books on tape. when I was still working lots of my friend did listen to books while they worked put I listen to music.

I prefer books. I cannot get lost in a book if I am listening to someone else reading the book to me. I like to just sit down and read the book myself. I love reading and can't get enough of it.

I prefer reading the book myself. I couldn't drive and listen to a story being read to me. Like you, I have to concentrate on my driving. I prefer listening to music while driving, myself. I don't know how you can read a 500 page book in one sitting. You must be a fast reader and a good one I bet, too. I like to read, myself, but it would take me time to finish reading a book with that many pages. My eyes get tired for one thing. Kathy.

I prefer reading myself for several reasons. The first is that sometimes you just can't stand the persons voice. I ordered a book by Doreen Virtue and for as much as I love her work, her voice sounds like my stepmother. That's not a good association. A second reason is I am a very fast reader. If the tempo is too slow, that would drive me crazy. I finished the entire Twilight Series in four days. That's why I love real books.

A little bit of both, when I traveled for my job I used to listen to books on tape all the time. I miss that.

I prefer to read myself. I read very quickly and I get bored when someone is reading to me. I can't focus on the story, especially if I'm driving or doing something else. I guess it's something you could get used to, but when I am driving I prefer music and I prefer to read my books while sacked out on the sofa.

I am an avid book reader there is nothing I love more then curling up with a good book and escaping into new worlds and living through the eyes of the charector telling his/her story.I could never listen to a book in a car that would be dangerous as my mind would wander too much.I listen to books when I am sick though.While I do love listening to people telling me stories and tales I prefer reading them as I have my own rountine.

ever since a kid, i never really liked books being read to me. i enjoy it more when im the one reading. i could read non-stop till i get to the last page of the book.

i just love reading.

those books on tape are a no no for me as i am hearing impaired... lol

Hi Jabeau...I know it's nice to curl up with a good book. However for some people who spend a lot of time commuting it's a wonderful invention that you can have books on tape now. I know my brother used them when he was going to school because he had a long ride and an even longer one in traffic.
