It's 3am and Husband is Snoring!! |
|
Here I go again with another sleepless night. My husband snores louder then a freight train. He could actually wake the dead if we lived by a cemetary, and yes before any ask he has gone to the doctor and did the sleeping lab test and he is ok, there is no underline health issue he just has that extra piece of skin that at times lays over and flaps while he sleeps and that is why he snores so loud. I am thankful that he is healthy and all, but I swear sometimes I want to cut that piece of skin out myself. Once his new insurance kicks in he will have the surgery to remove it, but until then I will go without sleep. He does not snore like this every night just about 1-2 nights a week. Turning him over or waking him up does not work, because the skin stays flapped over and he never stays awake for more then 5 seconds to tell me he is sorry and will go get on the couch but I always so NO, becaus ehe works hard for this family and he deserves the bed. So I just get up, and once I am awaken I cannot go back to sleep that is my sleeping disorder....lol
Anyway how about you, do you or your love one snore and keep the other one awake?

Even our cats snore, so we have to stir them every once in a while. Trying to stir my man doesn't do anything either, he sleeps like the dead, if he didn't snore I would start freaking. I am a heavy sleeper too, but when he shakes me to tell me I am snoring I giggle and go back to sleep, he says it works sometimes.

2. mentalward (4373) | 9 months ago | Oh, man! Does my husband ever snore!!! He rattles the windows! He's put cracks in the walls! Well, okay, I'm exaggerating a bit, but he is LOUD!
He also has sleep apnea. He was supposed to go in for a sleep study a few years ago but "postponed" it. (Postponed it permanently, I think.)
I've handed him every bit of information I could find on sleep apnea, hoping to scare him into getting this looked into but he aways comes up with one excuse or another.
I suffer from chronic fatigue syndrome and his snoring and sleep apnea wake me up from what little sleep I DO get almost every single night.
Ironically, just last night, I told him that I'm moving into another bedroom because I need what little sleep I CAN get and, with him waking me up, he's causing me more physical pain every day. (I have fibromyalgia and a few other painful things.)
He didn't like that idea and promised me (once again) that he would have it looked into and have that surgery. I've heard that before and, since every night sleeping in the same bed with him is causing me more distress, I'm not waiting. We have a bedroom in the basement, plus another bedroom on the first floor that I've been using mainly as my art/craft studio. I've been clearing that one out to fit a bed into because that's where I'll be sleeping from now on. I don't care what he says anymore because I've heard enough promises from him that he's broken to know that this is probably just one more broken promise.
He can't get it through his thick skull that, by having his snoring and sleep apnea problem looked into and "fixed", he'll be doing himself a great favor, too. Some people are just too stubborn to reason with.

Ozarkgirl (602) | 9 months ago | I too suffer from Arthritis and Fibromyalgia and Chronic Pain Syndrome. If he will not help you and himself then moving into another room might actually get him off his butt and get that sugery so he can get you back in the bedroom...LOL

4. tattylashes (4295) | 9 months ago | my ex was a nightmare, i had many sleepless nights with this man, he would snore and no matter what i did for him to stop, it would continue, i have a one bedroom flat so it's not like he can go to the other bedroom and sleep and like your husband he would refuse to get on the couch, not only did he snore, but his breathing would stop every now and then so i would have to poke him to start him breathing again, also if he did stop snoring just for a few minutes, i would just drift off and his feet were jumping all over the place, he used to twitch his legs and feet which just used to enrage me because i would be irritated by this and i used to wake and shout at him because i was so frustrated it made us fight about it, i was tired and angry all the time because i had no sleep and he would moan at me for waking him when he snored, i came up with a great solution, move back to your own house and snore as much as you want to so that's what he did, it was causing a great strain on our relationship and we grew apart, we have broken up now but i am getting the best sleep ever, we didn't break up because of his snoring, but we did break up because of his kids, they were a nightmare and had no respect for me, so in order for this to stop...i got rid of him and they followed, but his snoring was a nightmare....

5. littleme16ga (284) | 9 months ago | I snore and can't help it. I've snored so loud I've woken my honey bunches up in the middle of the night. I also do stuff in my sleep and don't realize it. You can ask me pretty much anything and I'll respond or I've been known to hit you, hog the bed, you name it I've probably done it. I don't know if it's just an unconscious thing or if I do it cuz I've had one of those days and that's my venting process. I don't snore every night and there's nothing wrong with me. I love to sleep but if I slept as much as I wanted no one would ever get any sleep.

Ozarkgirl (602) | 9 months ago | There is nothing wrong with something snoring, I have a friend that gets sooo mad at her husband for snoring, but he cannot help it and she needs to realize this and find a compromise like my husband and I have. He would go sleep in the quest room but I love him so much that I do not want to be without him at night, I married him to share my life and bed with so I make the compromise to sleep the next day and lay awake at night when he snores watching TV and snuggle up to him or when nothing is on I get online. Thanks for sharing!!

My husband tells me that he used to snore a lot - before he had his tonsils taken out. I am glad I never had to do with that. I would go crazy! I hope your husband is able to get that surgery soon!

7. ronaldinu (7779) | 9 months ago | I do snore too and my wife usually acuses me of snoring... However lately I have discovered that she snores too... Anyway I would suggest you to put a piece of cotton in your ears not to hear his snoring. it would avoid another sleepless night and thus you can be happy in your marriage.

8. Jenniferp (196) | 9 months ago | Ugh, I am glad that something can be done to help you. Hope that the insurance kicks in soon. I have a snoring hubby too, I had to sleep on the couch many a night. Mostly when I was pregnant, I would just get up and sleep in the living room. I can run his butt and he will move around and stop; like it takes him out of this deep sleep where he snores the most. It really drives me nuts still and we have tried a lot of products. We will more than likely build a house in the future and may have separate rooms if it increases with his age. Good luck with getting some rest!

9. kprofgames (1451) | 9 months ago | Yeah that happened. You can't blame them for something they can't control, but having a lack of sleep does a number on you. Maybe have separate bedrooms until the insurance kicks in that or camp on the sofa so you get the needed rest.

10. costas1234 (174) | 9 months ago | Have you tried putting a golf ball in a pillow where your husband snores?
| |

|
|
Ozarkgirl (602) | 9 months ago | golf balls?? why??
| |
|
|
costas1234 (174) | 9 months ago | The golf ball if it is placed within the pillow, one's mouth is less likely to be open if there is something inside the pillow. From the golf ball the slight pain increases levels of consiousness.
