Do you do your own oil change or you rather bring it to the shop?

Some of my friends do their own maintenance on the car, and they probably did it pretty good too. Save the charge of labor fee, and you do it meticulously instead of rashly. I don't know how to do the oil change for my own car, that is why I have to bring to the shop all the time with their rip - off charges.
Can you do your own oil change for the car, or you just like me, have to bring it to the shop?

My husband maintains our vehicles and we're earning a pretty good living with his ability to maintain and repair motorcycles at our business. It's really not that hard to change your own oil. Maybe you should look for the instruction for your particular vehicle and give it a try sometime.

My dad is able to work on a lot of things on my car, which is really nice. It was a lot nicer when I lived at home because I could pretty much depend on him for everything with my car. Now that I live further away, he usually just helps me out with my oil changes. It does save me some money though, which is really nice.

In my younger years, I always changed the oil in my cars. It was cheaper to go to a discount store or auto parts store to buy the oil and filter, then do the labor myself. As I got older, and community environmental laws changed, I started to use the shops that specialized in oil changes and other lubricants, and yes, you really need to watch what they want to do and the amounts they will charge. But now as I am fast approaching the big 6-0, I do take my cars to a specific shop where the price is right for me, and several young men keep themselves employeed by doing a good job.

If i have a coupon and it is a good amount off i will bring in it to a shop and it doesn't really matter what shop to me they usually are the same price anywhere you go nowadays. I don't bring it in all the time because my boyfriend used to work at Goodyear and he can change my oil for me and it doesn't cost as much and i will be saving money that way. He is pretty good amount changing the oil for me when i need it done, and he usually does his himself to, to save the money and the hassle of waiting and what not.
