I am looking for a loan, does anyone know any good loan companies?

I've been contacted by several unscrupulous lenders who guarantee they WILL definately get me a loan, no matter what my circumstances are, but when I tell them I am self-employed, have no proof of my own income and have a not particularly good credit record they say they can't help me.
If any of you know a good, decent, honest loan company (my bank won't loan to me, so don't bother suggesting that), please will you let me know, it needs to be a UK one.
Thank you.
(The loan will be used for: Buying a car, paying off bills and setting up my business)

I am afraid there isn't one. If your credit rating is poor, a decent loan company is extremely unlikely to lend to you especially if you have applied for several loans recently. Tesco Finance may be worth a try as they almost gave me a loan until they decided my job was temporary. So you will have to be very precise about details. I know most loan companies want you to have a mininum income, usually at least £1000 per month, but Tesco seem to base it on an amount of spare income because they said I could afford a loan if I wasn't paying rent or something. They might not help but they are the only one I can think of who aren't dodgy with whom you might have a chance at all.
