If you start today, how long would you need to get ripped? email this discussion to a friend?

For me, I know the answer. Last time it took 2 months to go from chubby, lazy computer dude and couch commander, to ripped spartan 6pack barbarian lol

Laziness got the best of me, got back to where I was before blush

But now I'm back on the program. If it takes me 60 days before I can count to 6 on the packs, then that means I now have 57 days to go thumbup

How long for you, if you were to start today, or tomorrow morning?

Hahahaha.... well, I know it took an entire winter for me to slide back down into this 'fat and flabby' version of myself, so I expect it will take me nearly as long to return some semblance of order to the mess. rolleyes

I am getting 'back to basics' after this coming weekend. I am finishing off the rest of the food in my house, which at this point is a pot of beans and rice and a cube of butter, then I will do 10 days on the 'Master Cleanser' and another 20 days or so on fresh vegetable juice. I can't believe I ever gave up fasting to begin with.

Not only that, but I haven't done any yoga in so long I am stiff and sore as I could possibly be, and all these hours sitting here in front of this computer doesn't help either! Well, that is about to change! I give myself 35 days to achieve some inspiring results, but after that I don't care how long it takes, as long as it is soon! lol

ah, awesome plan right there, BR for you lol

here is the testing version of my new blog on the subject

http://test11ng.blogspot.com/

but next week we really kick off, getting myself a domain, and start pumping the updates. if not the training itself, then surely the posting and updating will burn them calories like crazy:D

I really enjoyed reading your blog! I love your writing style and your energy. I don't envy you the job of trying to juggle a day job and an entire physical and psychological revamp though!

I almost left a comment there but did not think it would be any too appreciated, with you ignoring me and all. The only reason I'm responding here is because I was looking forward to sharing 'progress reports' with you that I am not going to lightly let that go.

Anyway, I am not following such a rigorous program as you, but it is a program that is suited to my own energy (or lack of it, hehehe) right now. First of all, I really don't care how long it takes me to reestablish order, so I do not have a 'deadline' to meet. My focus is on establishing lifestyle changes, rather than to be able to confidently wear my yoga shorts in public by this summer... although I would like to be able to at least fit into them in the next few weeks!

Today is the first day of my fast. I am recovering from a hangover, although I only drank Saturday night (2 rum and cokes and polished off 2 1/2 bottles of wine with my sister). I got to bed at about 5 or 6AM and got back up at about 10AM. (And to sleep off a hangover I need at least 10 hours of sleep!)

On top of that I worked out in the hot sun all day (fortunately there was a nice breeze) digging compost into the garden and other yard work, and failed to drink any water to correct my bodies dehydrated state... and only drank coffee.

Additionally, my brother had brought my mother up a key lime cheesecake that would not fit in her freezer, so it was in mine, and at 11PM last night, in a mild panic, I ate my 'last supper', hehehe.... 2 pieces of the most heavenly cheesecake I have ever eaten!

Not the best way to start off a 30 day fast, but I am starting anyway. The first few days of a fast are the hard part, when psychological cravings from well established bad habits are kicking up a fuss. I am actually pretty mentally prepared for this fast, although I am allowing myself this last packet of tobacco to help me through the tough days.

Then, by the time I am feeling the surge of energy I get once I have entered the 'fasting mode', it will be easier to leave off tobacco at that point. I like to make it as easy on myself as possible, because if I lay a heap of new rules and regulations on top of myself I always end up rebelling, and like a stubborn mule refuse to take even one step to follow them.

I already walk outside in the mountain air about 3 miles a day. My immediate objective is to be able to jog a mile of that distance. Ultimately I would like to run 5 miles a day, but like I said, I prefer to take it slow and easy so that the changes are permanent rather than a 'program' requiring far too much effort for me to be able to sustain over time.

I am going to learn how to juggle while I am on this fast, and yoga helps establish the poise, focus, and the appropriate application of effort that juggling requires, so I will also be re-incorporating a daily yoga practice into my life.

But first I have to clean up my 'yoga room'... which is the room where I have spent the winter. The dust and cat hair are so amazingly thick in the air that I would not even consider wallowing around on the floor until I have given the room a thorough cleaning and airing out... one of my prime objectives during this fast... physical labor rather than sitting at my computer where the urge to smoke and snack is enough to drive me insane!

go for it. 60 days is a good time, it usually takes me aboureal thin skint 10 weeks to get the really thin skin below the belly button and by the time that hits I can even get an 8 pack.

not after i had a baby.. i am thin but not to the bone skin and muscle that i want...lol

TiffanyRose831 (37)  7 months ago

aye, 8packs are cool, I find that last part, under the b button, to be the hardest to burn off. But with time it will go too:D

so far the program has been having some major setbacks due to sleep problems, and the fact that I am looking to do my main training in the morning. Regrouping right now:P
