We have been having quite a few thunder storms here the last couple of weeks. It seems like the trees that have weathered these storms for years have finally given up. I have seen so many uprooted trees lately that i'm beginning to understand why so many people have their lots cleared of all trees before they build their houses. Have you had any storms in you neck of the woods? Do they seem to be more destructive this year than they have in the past? It makes me wonder what's in store for hurricane season.

Luckily we do not too many bad storms here but I do remember a few bad ones. We had a few that do uproot trees and over turn cars. But the one that really sticks in my head was one where or cable TV line got hit with lightning and it blew our TV up. I know you should unplug appliances during a lightning storm but I would never think of unplugging the TV cable.

Me either. I'll bet that was scary. Actually I hardly ever unplug anything because of storms though I will turn them off. I have most of my high tech electronics plugged into surge protectors and that pretty much takes care of it. I have heard of lightening coming in through the phone line before though. Now I usually run them through a surge protector too.

Yeah, lets see...three dollars for a surge protector or several hundred for a TV. Yep I think even a five year old could do that math.

Yes I would agree, I learned my lesson after that and have surge protectors now. They are a lot cheaper than have to buy a new TV after a bad storm lol

We have been very fortunate by way of storms. However, we are a little bit shy on rain this year. It doesn't seem to be drastic enough to be called a drought though, as I haven't heard anything about it on the farm reports. My sister did have a tree fall through her roof. That was very tragic for the family. That was when all of those bad storms went through Kentucky. And a friend of mine who has only lived there 3 years said that the weather is really making her husband ache more this year than ever. I hope that the storms will calm down, and there won't be any major tragedies. However, I like you wonder about hurricane season as well.

I can sympathize with the aching. I have found that I have a few more weather bones this year as well. When I lived in KY the snow in the winter blanketed everything and the schools were closed for weeks at a time. Does it still do that there?

We have had alot of rain lately but not any severe storms, thank God. We have had our fair share here though and alot of trees came down around here also.

It seems to be happening all over.
