We absolutely love maple syrup in our house. When I make pancakes with maple syrup, I like to add maple flavored turkey sausages. If I can't find them premade in the store, I just use turkey sausages and put a little maple syrup in the pan when cooking the sausages. The family comes running from every area of the house. It smells so good and the taste is wonderful. I do make turkey with maple syrup and butter also.

I dont know if it was maple syrup I put in my pancake when I bought one the last time. I actually like cupcake without anything or just butter. But with syrup is good too.

I'm a Canadian in maple syrup country. It's too bad it is so expensive even here. I got my last jar of it from the neighbor for coming to the rescue. He managed to start a grass fire by accident which also started the corner of his barn. My oldest son and I ran across the field with shovels and helped him put it out. He was most grateful. He owns quite a bit of land and taps the trees. I don't think he produces very much but it is nice to have some.

Thanks for your response. I think Maple syrup is only produced in North America, and mostly by a manual process. So it does not surprise me that it is so expensive. However I think it is worth the price, it tastes so good. I just try to use it sparingly.
