Ouch! It is not a good vacation at all since me, my kid, and my husband got a fever while on vacation at Boracay island. We are afraid that it is the outbreak of the H1 virus since many foreign tourist were also there to have their vacations. Until now my kid is not yet well. Is it just a cause of a bad weather?

Hello tkleyr, good day to you. Well, as I notice the weather here in our country is always changing especially in the afternoon where you expect that the weather condition will be hot at that particular time then suddenly the rain will falls down and at the time of 4:00 pm the sun will shine again and give a very hot condition of the weather. With this matter here in our country many people having sick. One reason of this that weather changing because of pollution. Well, regarding to your experience, I guess you really encounter a bad luck because as I know it really happen sometimes. I think the reason why your children still do have sick it's because their immune system is low and I think you must give them more vitamins C, in order for them to gain more protection and it will make them strong. In BORACAY, I haven't been there but I know that place really have a great numbers of foreigner, but as I know those foreigner already stayed there for such a long time so you do not have to worry about the virus named H1N1, because until now that virus was not yet here in our country. Well, tkleyr if I were you! I guess the first thing that you must do is go to a doctor and ask to check or observe your children so you can be able to know what is their condition and what sickness they receive while you are in Boracay! Then the second thing that you must is to pray so GOD will bless you and will help you. Honestly speaking, for me that's a very bad experience having sick with your vacation, even the only thing that you want to do with your family was to relax and enjoy your vacation. Well, that's all the end of my response here in your discussion! I hope I give a good advised! Happy posting and happy earning to everyone!

I hope that your family members will soon get better. I am an experienced traveler and several times I have been in the tropics and got a fever. I couldn't stop being sick on my way from Sumatra to Malaysia. I spent the next week really ill with an incredibly high temperature. Changes in weather can make me feel a bit off. Like I might go down with a cold rather than anything more serious. I would love to visit the Philippines one day. Good luck to your husband and child.

Hi tkleyr! As of now, I think our country is still free from this virus. Though there were suspected carrier, they were all cleared out after being quarantined and examined. Maybe the thought of mingling and sharing with other Foreigners in Boracay have made you to think that the fever you have came from them. Hope that your condition, including your family will continue to progress and get better. It just sad to know that you got sick when you were on a vacation.

I am sorry to hear that you all are suffering from these flu like symptoms. I hope you are all okay by now. Let's just hope that you did not get the bug since till this day Philippines is still an AH1N1 virus free country as of yet. So there is a low percentage that you got the bug in you. But always take precautionary measures so as not to spread any of what you got to your other family members. Quarantining is the best option for you now. Never take the Tamiflu medications yet as they said you don't self medicate. If you can maybe you can take the regular medications for flu. If you recover from it most probably you catch the oridnary flu virus that is also spreading since we are officially on flu season right now.

hello tkleyr! how is your kid doing? i hope he's already well. maybe it was only from too much heat in Bora. we went to Bora early April and it was really hot there. i couldn't stand it. i got allergies from the heat. it could have been a lot of fun if it weren't for the heat. let's pray that its not the swine flu virus. let's hope and pray that our government officials especially the health officials are doing they're best to prevent the virus from entering the country.

No,don't worry swine flu virus had not yet reach Philippine shore according to some health sources. The weather your family acquired maybe is just the result of the fluctuating weather condition in our country today. But do not take it for granted, go to a doctor for check up immediately to be sure. Prevention is better than cure, so take vitamin C everyday and eat healthy foods and fruits to boost immune system. Good luck!

That is such a bummer, tkleyr I think the fever is just caused by the bad weather. It's terribly hot these days and then would suddenly rain hard. Just to be sure, however, go to the doctor for a check up. Take care!
