| |  Are you assuming then that the soul is also made of dirt? The bible clearly states in many places that the soul, or rather the spirit, is not part of the body. In fact, the spirit and the flesh war with each other.
I think you omit several important points where the bible states that the spirit lives on and that little thing called the resurrection.
So, no, the soul is not destroyed in the grave. The bible speaks of another place, gehenna or hell, where both body and soul can be destroyed.
