I never worry about what my star rating is. It's been up and it's been down but the star doesn't have any effect on my earnings so I don't care. Some folks do seem to only rate discussions when they're not happy with them instead of rating every one and that's pretty unfair but don't let it get to you. I'll give you a +.

You are right,
others just give negative rating because they do not agree with the post....

Hello, huihojustin! Well, I also experienced that and I got it back. Don't worry, you can still recover it, just keep on posting good quality responses and discussions. And as I had posted on other discussions, if you avoid those discussions in which many of us have different opinions and beliefs, you may also avoid getting negative. Others give negative rating because they do not agree with the post and they think it to be wrong.
Happy mylotting and have a nice day!

Oh yeah, it is the same for me. It happens to me so many times before. I reached up to 9, and a day later, someone doesn't like my postings, and just gave a negative ratings. I going back to 8 again.

Thats the thing though, as many people out there that find is a great thing to give everyone a negative rating, there are many people I have seen just automatically give a positive rating to everyone on myLot as well. The system is flawed all the way around. There are people who their stars are dropping when they shouldn't and there are people that have higher rating when really I haven't seen them contribute much at all to myLot in the terms of overall quality. But in the end it is just best not to complain about it, and just continue what you are doing and maybe if you post enough real quality posts your rating will go back up, but complaining might just cause more people to give you a negative rating bringing your star down to a 4.

The star rating just means how well of a contributor you are according to other mylotters. Basically if someone posts a really great quality detailed response you should rate them positively whereas if someone posts something that is rude, uncalled for, or just plain fluff then rate them negatively. And then if a post is just average and doesn't really stand out - don't rate at all.
But don't rate positive just for the sake of being nice to someone because there are people with stars out there that don't deserve them.

I give out positive, only if it really lets my emotions fly! I never give out negatives, only positive, if i see a bad discussion, I don't give it a negative, I just don't post at all... I think it is rather rude, to give out a negative..
